Date night

Cahl and I went out for Date night last night, for the first time in over a year. I think everyone knows that Hunter has been very "attached" to me since he was born (or at least after he figured out who I was!) and so we haven't been able to leave him much. But he has gotten much more comfortable being with other people, so we ventured out last night. We went to see "Sex and the City." It was so good. I have been a huge fan of the show since it started, and I couldn't wait to see the movie. I even bought the tickets 3 weeks in advance! It was fabulous! Anyone who loves the show will love the movie. Cahl was not nearly as enthused about going as I was, but he went along anyway. So it was a very fun night.

T-Ball party

Tonight was Jasen's T-Ball end of season party. We got to the park a little early so the boys could play on the playground.

New Job

Well, I got a job. I applied at a few preschools/ daycares a few weeks ago, and I got hired at one last week. I will be starting at Creative Kids pretty soon. Before I can officially start, I have to get some things done. I went down today to get a Sheriff's card. They take your fingerprints and do a background check. So I got a temporary one, and I will go down in 3 months to get a permanent one, once my background check comes back. That was fun. It was about the same as going to the DMV of Social Security office. Be prepared to sit and wait in a crowded room for several hours. Jasen, Hunter and I were there for 3 hours. It was delightful, especially since we didn't have a Binky, snacks, toys, anything. I don't know what I was thinking, but I was NOT prepared at all. But thankfully it is done now. I have to go down to the Health District tomorrow and get my health card. Hopefully it isn't so bad, but we'll be much more prepared just in case! After that is done, I should be good to start working.

Printer

Cahl surprised me with a brand new, all in one printer last night! I made an off-hand comment the other day about how I would maybe like to get one sometime, and so he brought this home with him from Wal-Mart. This one is so cool! I can finally scan, copy, fax and print all in one! Welcome to the 21st century!

What the???

This is how I found Hunter this morning, when I got done making a phone call:

He falls asleep in the weirdest spots!

Pretty fans

The fans Cahl and I put up in the boys' rooms. It was a job, but now that it's done, they are so nice. They've really helped make it cooler upstairs in the afternoon.

Pool fun

We bought the boys (and Buddy) a little pool to put in the backyard last weekend. They had so much fun, especially Hunter. He was in charge of the hose!

Playoff Game 2- Warriors vs. Trojans

(First off, I have to apologize for not having any photos. I forgot my camera last night!)

Well, Tristan's second playoff game was last night. They played the Trojans and beat them with a final score of 30-0. This game was amazing! Our quarterback ran a 99 yard touchdown! It was incredible! Another play was our quarterback handed the ball to a running back, who then threw a pass to a reciever, who ran down for a touchdown. It was a beautiful play, so cool to watch. Tristan also had a perfect, no fumble game.

The next game is the Championship game on May 31st. I can't wait!

T-Ball!

Another T-Ball game today. Only one more to go before the end of the season, on the 31st. Aww, Summer!

Playoff Game 1- Warriors vs. Broncos

Well, today was the first of Tristan's 2 playoff games. They won with a score of 19-0. Boy was it hot out today! The game was at 11am, and we kept pouring water down their backs, having them drink lots of water and Gatorade, and misting their faces with water. They all had great spirits though, and played well. Our next game will be better. It is Wednesday night at 6pm. So it will be much cooler and not so miserable. As long as we win the next game, we will be going to the championship game on May 31.

As far as the other league is concerned, the season is over. They came out in second place overall, and they are all really happy with that. It was a good experience for all the players to have an opportunity to play a lot of different positions, and I know that they all learned a lot. So I am very proud of every Warrior player, all 18 of them! They made it through another great season, and have all individually progressed so much. I can't wait for the fall season, however I am really looking forward to a few months off!

The living room

So the living room is just about done now, so I wanted to put some photos up. I have a coffee table/ end table set picked out, I just need to order it. And the big shelf above needs some more things, but those will come with time. I also want to put up some widow treatments, but also in time...

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms I know! I hope you all have a great day. I know I sure am. My boys suprised me with some beautiful flowers (thanks Tristan!), Krispy Kreme donuts (thanks Jasen!), and new salt and pepper shakers (thanks Hunter, since you broke mine last week!). And Cahl made me crepes for breakfast, so good! After all that, we went over to Cahl's uncle Dan's house for a Mother's Day brunch. Cahl's grandparents, his uncle Dan and his wife Gail, his uncle Mike and his girlfriend Diana, his aunt Kathy with her daughter, his cousin Jayme with her husband and kids, his cousin Raymond and his daughter, and his cousin Chrystee with her husband and daughter were all there. We all had a nice time visiting and the food was great. The boys even swam for a bit in the pool. When that was done, we went and did a little shopping. Cahl and I got the things to build a tree to put up on the shelf above the living room. So I am excited about that. Pictures to come!

Thanks for such a great day guys. I had a great time, and I sure do love you all!

Friday night was the Spring Carnival at Tristan's school. We all went down and the boys played all the games (twice or more!) and we had dinner there. They all had a lot of fun.

Hard at work

Well, since we moved in, Cahl has been hard at work in the back yard. He has re-seeded and fertalized twice, and made planters around the rows of trees. He also took out two trees and put the playhouse in. Around the patio cover, he also installed a mister system. It is nice to sit out on the patio in the evenings and have it on. On the patio we put three half barrels and planted hydrangeas with some little annuals around them. I also planted some lillies in a big pot I have.
