Games, Games and more Games!

Friday night we went as a family to a Palo Verde High School football game. Tristan's team got free tickets for all the kids and coaches, so about half of his team all went. Cahl had t-shirts made for our whole team, their parents, and siblings, so almost everyone was wearing the shirts. We were one big matching group! It was a lot of fun, the kids had such a great time. The Panthers won, 56-0 over Reno.

And last night, Cahl took Tristan and met a friend and his son (who is on Tristan's team), and went to the UNLV Rebel game. It was funny, because while they were there, they also ran into another kid on Tristan's team and his dad. So the boys all had a great time hanging out together. The Rebels played the University of Utah Utes, and the Rebels won with a final score of 27-17 . They all had a ton of fun, especially because Cahl gets cheap tickets and they get to sit in the student section. Which is right by the band, and always a little rowdy! Now that the season has kicked off, I know Cahl and the boys will be going to lots of Rebels games!

Hunter

At the water park

Hunter is 20 months old now, and it just seems like he has been doing so much lately, that I wanted to write some of it down.

1st- Last Sunday he went pee AND poo in his potty for the first time! We got the potty out about 2 months ago, and he loves to sit on it. He had yet to use it until last weekend. And he hasn't gone since. But I think he has the right idea, because every time I change his diaper he points to the potty and says "pee" so he always tries to go in between diapers.

2nd- He is such a jabber jaw! He says so many things now, we almost always know what he wants! He can say up, juice, more, please, go, doggie, turkey, deer, over there, pee-pee, TT (for Tristan) dad, mom, no, just to name a few. He just jabbers away all day, and is always keeping a smile on our faces listening to him. Plus he shakes his head no, and it's so funny! He also points at what he wants, so there is no confusion!

3rd- He has been using forks and spoons by himself for several months now, but I watched him eating yogurt with a spoon today and I really noticed how good he does. He got very little on the table, or on himself.

4th- Hunter is by far the best sleeper we have had. When it is time for bed, he goes around the room and gives everyone a hug and waves goodnight to each person. Then he goes up the stairs and gives me a hug and kiss then lays down in his bed and goes right to sleep. He never makes a fuss, as long as he has his blanket, pillow and little toys he's good to go.

Hunter is just so much fun to be around. He definitely makes every day better!

First Day of School

Today was the first day of school for Tristan and Jasen. They were both really excited, and both had a great day. They both really like their teachers, so I'm happy about that.

Out with the Old...

And in with the New! I bought a new vacuum today! How exciting! This is my old vacuum:

It has served me well over the last 5 years. But it has been slowly pooping out on me for the last 2 years or so. Therefore, after a TON of research, and agonizing about which vacuum to buy, this is the one I finally decided on:

It is wonderful! I bought it tonight and vacuumed the whole downstairs already. I love it. It is so much more powerful than the old one. It does a great job. So I am very happy with my new toy, and I'm sure I'll be spending a lot of time trying it out in the near future!

Quick Trip

We took a quick little trip up to Utah to visit with Cahl's cousin Stacey and her family this weekend. We left early Saturday morning, and got there around 10am. After hanging out chatting for a few hours, we went up in the mountains for a fishing trip. We also packed dinner supplies, so we had a wonderful campfire dinner. Some of Stacey and Andy's friends and their kids came up also, and so the boys had some other kids to play with. They all had fun fishing and exploring around the lake. Today was kind of a lazy day, and we came home this afternoon. So it was a nice end of summer trip out of the city.

Are you ready for some football?!

Ladies and Gentlemen, it is time once again for football season. Tristan's team kicked off the season last night with a light practice, team meeting, and BBQ. Most of the players are back for another round, and we've also picked up some new players. So the team seems to shaping up well and looks strong for the fall season. The team name has changed from the Warriors to the Panthers. Hopefully I won't mess up too many times while cheering! I am also really excited about this season because Cahl is going to be an assistant coach. It is something he has been wanting to do for a few years now, and he is finally able to. So he is really happy about that and I am too.

Another Wedding

Cahl's cousin Raymond got married yesterday. The wedding was outside at Raymond's dad's house, Cahl's uncle Dan. It was small, but it was really nice. The wedding was at 7:30pm, so it was nice outside, not too hot at all. The boys had a lot of fun after dinner, as most of the kids went swimming. So it was a very nice evening all in all.

School News

Tristan is almost out of school. His last day is Friday, and then he will have a few weeks off before the begining of second grade. Jasen is really looking forward to starting kindergarten. He asks me almost everyday if this is the day he starts school. Cahl bought him a new backpack last week and we bought all their school supplies the other day, and he can't wait to go!

I am so excited about my grades from the summer semester. I took History of Rock (Music) and got an A, and I took Nevada History and got a C+ (hey, that + matters!!). So I am happy that I passed both, and am just waiting for the next semester to start in a few weeks.

Cahl took and passed Calculus 1 earlier this summer, and he is currently taking Calculus 2. Then he'll be at it again in the fall.

BMX Race

We all went out to the Nellis BMX Racetrack again tonite. The boys both did really good, they both took second place in their classes. This is Jasen's first big trophy, and he is on cloud nine! Both of the boys are super excited about their wins, and can't wait for the next race.

Big News

Well, during this last week I was offered a permanent position at work. I will have my own room, and be the main teacher. My new hours will be 8-5, which I really like because I'll get off early enough that I still have time with the boys at night. Plus now that I have a permanent position, I will start earning benefits like vacation days and paid holidays. So I am pretty excited about that.
