Happy Anniversary

Cahl and I celebrated our 8th anniversary today! Wow, it's so weird to think that that long has gone by. On one hand, it has flown by. So much has happened, and we've done and been through so much. On the other hand, it feels like we've been together forever. It's hard to remember what it was like without him. He truly is my very best friend, and I love every day that I get to be around him. And even though we don't like each other very much, we still have so much fun together and laugh constantly. And we have an amazing family. I couldn't be more proud to be his wife and mom to his awesome kids!

Football~ Bonecrushers vs Steelers

Today was a great day! We started off the morning doing a community yard sale, and after about 3 hours, we packed it up and headed to Tristan's football game. The Bonecrushers played the Steelers today, and we were a little nervous about the game. The Steelers did really well last season, and going into this week they were ranked number 4. But the Bonecrushers came out swinging, and won the game with a final score of 20-6. Tristan got some great tackles, and he was even in on a fumble recovery. It was a little weird, because 4 of his former teammates are on the Steelers. But he did great, and was happy to win. After the game, we went to lunch with some friends, then we came home and finished cleaning the garage. We ended up selling more stuff this afternoon on craigslist, and then had another family over for dinner. Yep, it was a busy day, but a lot of progress was made!

Football~ Bonecrushers vs Red Raiders

Today the Bonecrushers played the Red Raiders. It was a great game, a real nail-biter! They had one kid on their team, number 77, and he was MASSIVE! He must've been close to 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. And he's in 4th grade! And Tristan had to block him! It was a very funny match up. It was a very defensive game, and our Bonecrushers pulled out a win of 14-13! The first win of the season, and it feels great! Hopefully we'll keep it up!

Shower

This evening, my wonderful friends from church threw me a baby shower! Around 20 girls came by, and it was a wonderful time. The food was amazing, and they went all out! We got so many amazing gifts, I feel so grateful to have such an amazing group of friends. And I feel so humble that they care enough about me and my family to treat us so well.

Happy Birthday

to me! I turned 26 today. It was a regular Thursday, Hunter and I did our regular errands. Then after we all got home tonight, the boys had cake and sherbert for me, and some wonderful presents. I got new slippers, candy, and an amazing new towel set, and a super awesome coupon book! Yay! I love my boys so much, and they really do spoil me rotten!

Bobcats, Wolfs, and Bears...

...oh my! Tristan has only been in the Bear den at scouts for 2 months, and last night he earned his Bear! It takes most kids close to a year to earn their Wolf or Bear badges, and Tristan got his in 6 and 2 months respectively. Now that he has done all the requirements, he can work on all the electives and earn arrow points. He even earned 2 new arrow points for his bear already! He is Super Scout! He loves scouts, and Cahl does too, which is why he does so well. He loves doing projects at home and being able to show them off at his den meetings and to friends and family. It is something special that he can do with his dad, and I really love that Cahl loves to do it with him so much.

Football~ Bonecrushers vs Cowboys

This week our Bonecrushers took on another hard team- the Henderson Cowboys. This is a team that's been around for years, and they are very dedicated and very disciplined. And it shows- they have been undeafeted champions for over 100 games. Our boys played hard, but they lost 38-6.

Still Here

So I realize I haven't posted very much in the last month, but not to worry, we're still here. We've just been very busy. This year, we decided to renovate our master bathroom with our tax refund. So we started that project in early February. Doing all the work completely ourselves (mostly Cahl!!), it is now almost completely done. The only things left are ordering and installing the shower glass, and finishing the trim work. Pictures to come when it is completely finished!

While Cahl busted his butt in the bathroom, I also worked on getting the "nursery" (baby's corner of our bedroom) done. We had bought a crib several months ago, and it ended up being part of the big recall from earlier this year. But we have since gotten all new replacement panels and hardware, and it is a brand new crib! I also set out to make my own bedding set for the baby, after not being able to find exactly what I was looking for. We bought all the fabric and batting, and sewed a brand new set. I made a bumper set and blanket. It was my first big sewing project ever, and it turned out perfect! Of course, there are a few spots where I messed up, but they are only noticeable to me since I know where they are! I am super proud of it, and it feels good to know that I did it myself. The colors are light green with little retro ballerinas, and light pink with white polka dots. I wanted a little shelf to decorate with and put shoes on and other small things, and Cahl found this one at the thrift store, and it's perfect for her. Exactly what I wanted. I also got the little "dream" sign at Ross, and I love it because it is pink and green. I got the ceramic ballet shoes off ebay, and I love them. I was originally trying to find soft, stuffed shoes, but I decided on these because they are vintage and it ties in well with the bedding fabric. So her spot is done, and I feel really good about it!

Football~ Bonecrushers vs Green Machine

Today was the first football game of the season for Tristan. He has moved up a division, and is now playing 11 man midget. His team played the Green Machine, a really good team that we are very familiar with. The Bonecrushers did great! They lost 26-0, but they played very well. Tristan played starting offense and starting defense, as well as special teams. He only left the field for a few plays the whole game! He did awesome! He got the ball on a kickoff, and he had several really good tackles! Looks like this will be another great season for him! (Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the game, because I forgot to charge my batteries and didn't have any spares. Oh well, next week!)

Museum

My parents came to town for a visit, and so today we took the boys down to the Natural History Museum. We hadn't been there before, and the boys had a good time.

Texas

Cahl and Tristan were able to go down to Texas this last weekend to go hunting. Cahl's uncle has a huge ranch outside of Lubbock, and they keep it stocked with all sorts of deer, turkeys, pigs, and lots of other exotic animals. They went down with a few of Cahl's cousins and his uncle for a doe hunt. I guess the hunt wasn't very good, but they still had a great time!
