My sister and niece came to visit us last weekend, and we had a great visit. They got in Thursday night, so we just hung out and chatted that night. Then Friday we didn't do too much either. Just hung out around the house while the kids played, and then went to the football game that night. Saturday was another lazy day at home. Cahl took Jasen and Tristan to their game in the afternoon, and the rest of us stayed home since it was pretty windy out. After we had dinner, we took the kids to u-swirl. It's a self serve frozen yogurt place, and we had not been there before. We all loved it! The kids had a great time! Sunday was girls day out, and my sister, niece and I went and got pedicures and then had lunch. After naps, we all went out to dinner before we had to say goodbye. They had to leave early this morning to return their rental car and catch their flight, so we didn't see them this morning. But we had a great time while they were here. Thanks for coming Saliesh and Paige!! See you again soon!

Tristan's team played their second playoff game under the lights tonight, against the Green Machine. It was a great game, and a bit of a nail biter. The Green Machine was leading 20-0 at half time, and our boys were so discouraged. I don't know what their coach told them in the huddle at half time, but they came out swinging in the second half! They scored twice, and were all fired up. But the Green Machine made one last touchdown in the final minutes of the game, and we lost with a final score of 26-12. So that was the last game for Tristan's midget team. They finished out the season in 3rd place, and that's awesome! Considering this is their first season of playing 11 man, and they lost their first two games. It's pretty obvious that they coaches and players all made a ton of progress this season, and did a great job!

Last night was the annual cub scout Pinewood Derby. All of our boys built cars last weekend, and they were so excited to race them! Tristan's car did really well, and he took 2nd again this year. Jasen and Hunter were able to race their cars in the open division.

The first game of the day was our peewees playing the Green Machine. Our kids played hard, and they did a good job, but they lost again- 13-0. It's hard to see our little guys lose every game. I just don't want them to get discouraged and have their spirits broken. Tristan did really well, and Jasen did too. He got a lot of play time today, and it's nice to see him progressing. Tristan has also really stepped up this season as a team captain. Today he was out on the field putting the littler kids were they needed to go, and talking to them telling them what to do. He really is showing some great leadership and mentoring skills, and I am so very proud of him!
Today's second game was the first game of the playoffs, and it happened to be a rematch of last week's game against the Federals. The Bonecrushers came out and once again showed what they were made of, with a win of 43-0. The score could have been much higher, but our coach had the running backs step out of bounds a few times, so we didn't run the score up too high. I really respect him for that. I think it shows great character and sportsmanship.

Tonight Cahl's aunt threw us another baby shower with all of our family that lives here in town. About 10 family members were able to come, and it was so nice! We ate, played games, and of course did presents! Brinley got spoiled once again! She got lots of new clothes, shoes, an adorable robe, blanket, and lots more. Kathy also got me a scrapbook and lots of girly paper and stickers. Brinley and I had a lot of fun, and so did the boys. They had a special "boys night" with Cahl and went out to dinner and watched a movie. What a great night!

This morning the boys' games were out at Basic high school in Henderson. The peewee game was scheduled for 9am, so we got there at 7:30. Turns out, the game had been rescheduled at the last minute to 12:30, and our team had not gotten the message. Since it was so far across town, and such a long wait, we decided to cancel the game. So we just hung out and waited till 10, when Tristan's midget game was. His team played the Federals, and we won once again, 25-6. This was the last regular season game for the midget team, so starting next week are the playoff games. The Bonecrushers are looking good, currently sitting in 3rd place at 7-2.
After the football game today we decided to head out to Lake Mead, since we were so close. We went out and took a scenic drive around to the marina, and once we got there we bought the boys some popcorn to feed the fish and ducks. They had a great time feeding them, and Tristan grabbed a few of the big carp's lips and tried to pull them up. But they were too slippery and heavy and they got away! Hunter was so funny, he would throw a handful of popcorn to the fish and then eat a handful. After they used up all their popcorn, we went over to the edge of the lake and they waded in and splashed around for a while. It was nice and hot today, so they really had a good time!

Brinley is 1 month old today. Time flies when you're having fun, and we sure have been! She went in for her last postpartum midwife visit today, and she's doing excellent! She now weighs 9 pounds and is 21 1/2 inches long. Her little cheeks are getting fat, but she still has little chicken legs!
