Go West!

Tonight was Jasen's school music performance, the 5th grade production of Go West! Jasen didn't have a speaking part (by choice), but the whole performance was really good, and all the kids did great!

Today was Take Your Kid to Work Day, and Jasen and Hunter wanted to go with Cahl. Tristan opted to go to school, since he thought today was the day they got to dissect frogs, but it turns out that's next week. So he was a little miffed, but it's ok.

Camelsback Hike

Tonight the scouts went on a hike at Camelsback Park. It was a practice hike, for their upcoming hiking campout, so they had their packs fully loaded. They hiked several miles up, down and around the mountain, and they all did really well. They're even talking about wanting to go back and do it again!

Princess Bed

Cahl has been working hard the last few weeks working on a bed for Brinley. He really wanted to build her a princess castle bed, so he looked online and got ideas, then drew up his design. It is a top bunk, with a toy box, desk, and small closet underneath for all her dress up things. On the outside are stairs to the bed, and a small bookshelf. Up in the bed, there are 2 shelves inside the bigger turrets, and another small shelf in the middle turret to hold a few bedtime books. He built in in the garage, and convinced Brinley that it was going to be his desk for the new house. She loved helping him! He got it done and moved into her room last night, and she was so excited to put all her stuff away. It is awesome, and she loves it!

She is THRILLED!!!

A few weeks ago, Cahl picked up this armoire that we wanted for the new house. Our guest bedroom will not have a built in closet, so we decided to turn this into a closet. The armoire was designed as a TV cabinet, so we put a solid back on it, and installed a closet rod. Then we painted and distressed it, and it turned out amazing!

Big News... we are building a house!! We signed for it a few months ago, and they broke ground and started building this week! Estimated time of completion is mid- July. It is very close to where we are living right now, which is nice. The boys will be at new schools, but they are happy with that. Jasen especially, since the middle school has an excellent math and science department. We will also have a huge yard, and we are all very excited about that, and all the possibilities. It will be so nice to feel like we are fully unpacked and organized and comfortable in our own home again.

Court of Honor

Tonight was Tristan's Court of Honor for Scouts. Cahl presented all the boys with over 60 merit badges they earned, and Tristan earned 3- cooking, Automotive Maintenance, and Citizenship in the World. He is doing awesome, and has almost earned his Eagle. Him and Jasen, as well as all the scouts that went to the Klondike campout a few months ago received a special badge for that as well.

Bronco Day

Jasen and I went down to Bronco Stadium today to get him registered for football this fall. He got to meet several of the Bronco players, and run drills with them. It was a fun day, and he had a great time!

Tonight there was a hoe down at church, so the kids and I went. There was square dancing, and a pie eating contest. It was really cute, and they had so much fun!
