Tristan's first football game was this afternoon. They played the team ranked last a year ago, Lowell Scott Middle School, and were surprised with a loss! But I think they learned not to underestimate anyone based on the past, and that's a good lesson. Tristan is also really happy that he is number 53 again. He started wearing that number when he was 8, and with the exception of last year, he has worn it exclusively since then. He is playing on the offensive line this year, and also on both special teams.

Jasen's team had a scrimmage today for their practice. They are doing ok, but not great. I know this team had a rough season last year, with no wins, so I am hoping they can figure out what works before the season is over. I am hoping they can break the dry spell, and have at least a few wins this season.

We celebrated Cahl's birthday a little oddly this year, but it all worked out in the end. For his birthday, the kids and I made him a coupon book of things he likes that we are willing to do for him. Then he also got a new scope for his hunting rifle, which he is excited to use this fall.

One of the other projects close to the top of our list, was getting the concrete poured to extend our driveway and for an RV pad. Cahl spent weeks contacting different companies, getting quotes and talking to people before he found the right guy for the job. The crew had it all done in 2 days, and they did a great job. I love how they matched the stamped edge to what we already had, and we are really happy with how it turned out. Right now it goes from the front sidewalk to the back of the garage, and eventually we will extend it back to the fence in the side yard, but for now this is a great start!

Somehow in the middle of all this house craziness and moving, Cahl finished all of his school work and earned his Master's Degree! He now has a Master of Business Administration, specializing in Management of Engineering and Technology. He's such a smart cookie, and we are all so proud of him!

Some of the other projects we got done pretty quickly were putting shelf liner in all the kitchen cabinets. It looks great, and I'm so happy we got it all done.
Cahl also came up with this cool idea of pillars to go under the mantle, to hide all the TV cords in. So we built them, painted them, and installed them and they look awesome! The Before and After:
The builders have also come and replaced the front door, since the original one had been broken on the bottom and did not have a peephole. And they came and replaced the cabinet above the fridge to be the taller size it was supposed to be.
