Today was a pretty momentous day at our house- Brinley took the training wheels off her bike, and learned to ride without them! She did awesome, and caught on really quick! She's still getting the hang of starting by herself, she still wants/needs a push, but she rode all the way to the park and back and did really well.

Jasen's team played again today, and they lost again. This has really been a rough season, but I'm proud that Jasen keeps his head up, and he always plays his best until the end of the game. He played offense and defense today, and he even caught a kick return!

We've also been hard at work in the backyard lately. We have so far planted 5 trees (one was transplanted from the front yard, and 4 are new), and several bushes. We will have 2 more trees to plant in a few weeks, but right now it's looking really good and the grass is really starting to fill in.

Today's game was the one Tristan has been looking forward to all season: they played his school from last year, Lewis & Clark. It was a great game, and our Huskies won. They have been doing awesome this season, and I'm really proud of the progress Tristan has made.

Hunter's team played again today, and lost 32-12. I wish that they were having a better season, but I think the mix of coaches who haven't coached before and kids who haven't played before, is hard to get up and running. I am hopeful that they will have at least one more win before the season ends.

Last night Cahl and Tristan did their first camp out with our new troop. They hiked in to Shirts Lake, which is up by Cascade. Because a few of the scouts, including Tristan, have football practice after school until 5, they didn't get to their campsite and set up until after dark. The hike is about a mile and a half, and a lot of it is pretty steep, which as the mama makes me a little nervous to have them hiking that in the dark, but they all made it safe and sound. The views the next morning were beautiful! Some of the other boys jumped into the lake, but Tristan decided not to after he dipped his feet in and felt how cold it was!

We have been working hard to get the back yard ready for grass seed. Cahl has raked and raked to get it even, and the boys have picked a dozen buckets full of rocks. Brinley has been very helpful as well, being the weight on Cahl's rake, as well as driving her jeep around and giving directions! But we got it all worked over, and the guys came today and sprayed the hydroseed down. It feels great to have it done, and now we are excited to watch it grow!
