Every year we go sledding up in the mountains on Christmas Eve. This year we stayed a little closer to home, and invited several families to meet us at Kleiner Park, which has a big hill. We took a couple of big jugs of hot chocolate, and the kids had fun for hours. They made giant snowballs, raced down the hill, and built a jump to see who could fly the highest.
Later in the evening, we had our traditional family movie night, and the kids all slept together in some festive tents they put up in the movie room!

Last week, Tristan had about a dozen scouts over to the house to work on his Eagle project. He collected almost 250 pieces of sports equipment, so they had to air up and inspect each ball, wash, dry and sort every item. They managed to get everything done in under 2 hours, which was awesome. So tonight, Tristan was able to take everything down to the Boys and Girls club and donate it. They are in the process of building a new gym, and expanding their facility, so they are really excited about all the new equipment! It feels so good to have that all done, and now Tristan just needs to finish up his paperwork, and he'll be able to earn his Eagle Scout.
This afternoon, Hunter and Brinley both had their class Christmas parties at school. I went in this morning and mixed up a huge batch of trail mix for Hunter's class, and got it all made into individual bags for them. Then this afternoon, I went it and helped make floats for them while they watched a movie. I also went to Brinley's class and helped them decorate cookies and play games. It was rally fun, and I love that I get to go in and do that so often.

Last weekend Hunter had his birthday party at Grinker's, which is a cool old school arcade. He invited a bunch of friends, and they ate and played games for a few hours. They had a ton of fun! Then today, I brought Hunter a special lunch at school for his birthday. It was fun to sit with him and his friends, and I know he really enjoyed it, even if the picture doesn't show it!

Today we decided to take the day off from our regular responsibilities, and head to the mountain to go sledding and cut our Christmas tree. The kids had a lot of fun finding the tree, and Jasen cut it down this year. They also had a great time sledding, and we stopped in Idaho City for lunch on our way home.
