Memorial Day

We headed to Salmon for our annual Memorial Day camping weekend, and this year we went up Mill Creek. There were several friends and their families, and it was a ton of fun, like always! We took our little dirt bikes, and Cahl's dad brought his Razr up for us, and the kids had hours and hours of fun riding everywhere. It's also fun that there are so many other kids, so the kids have friends to play with, and they play  games, build forts, and have movie nights. I love that we have made this weekend a tradition each year, and we all love it! It was also special this year, because we finally got the meet my best friends new baby! I'm so happy that they were able to come spend some time with us too!

Scout Campout

This month Jasen's scout troop went to the South Fork of the Salmon River to get firewood for the rest of the year. They were fascinated with the deer in their camp! After they had loaded all their wood, they went on a hike to a natural hot springs, were a few of them were even brave enough to get in a swim!

Hunter had his Pinewood Derby tonight. He didn't win, but he made it into the semifinal rounds before he finally got beat. He was so cute with his M&M trophy!

Soccer Game

Today was Brinley's last soccer game for the season, and I think we're all ready for a little break. She's enjoyed playing, but hasn't decided if she wants to play again in the fall, so we'll see where we end up in a few months.

Field Trip

Hunter's class went on the Historic Downtown Meridian field trip today. We started at City Hall, got our maps to the historic sites, and set off. It's a walking field trip, so we walked all over downtown stopping at each historic place and reading about them. Then we went to the Pine Street School, which is an old, one-room school building. There are ladies that work there that do a full demonstration of how school would have been. They did a great job, and it was fun to watch the kids. After we did the schoolhouse demonstration, we headed back to City Hall for our guided tour. The kids had fun learning about the history of the city and building, and the city counsel. We followed City Hall with lunch and playtime at the park, before the kids headed back to school. I love spending time with the kids and their classes, and I'm so happy that I have the opportunity to spend as much time with them as I do.

Dance Recital

Tonight was Brinley's spring dance recital. They danced to Modern Millie, and it was so cute! I volunteered to be the class mom, so I got a sweet front row seat with all the girls!
