This month Hunter's scouts have been learning about and working on some detective and forensics work, as well as learning about the Police and Firefighters. Tonight they had a special guest speaker- an officer from the Meridian Police Dept! He came and spent the hour with them teaching them what he does, what equipment and tools he carries, all about fingerprinting and finding shoe prints, and he even let them crawl all over the inside and outside of his police vehicle. They were all in heaven! That is, until they learned that once you're in the backseat of a cop car, you can't get out!!

On our final day in Seaside, we just hung around the beach one last time. There were a ton of sails that had washed up on the shore, so the kids had a great time looking at them and some anemones. We also took turns filling a little bottle with sand and shells, to keep as our trip souvenir.
Once we were done frolicking, we finished packing up and headed for Cahl's mom house a few hours away. We stayed the night with her, and headed home the next day. It was an amazing trip, and I know we are all so happy that we were able to go! Some great memories were made for sure!

By the next day, I was feeling back to normal, so we started the day with some kite flying on the beach, then ventured down to Tillamook to check out the cheese factory.
After we had toured the cheese factory, had lunch and ice cream, we headed back toward Seaside. We stopped at some little Farmers/Fishers Markets along the way.
We ended our day renting one of these cool looking covered 3 bench bikes, and cruised around town. Turns out, they are surprisingly heavy, especially when 1 or 2 people aren't pedaling as hard as everyone else! But it was a lot of fun, and we all loved it!

Somehow for this day of our trip, I came down with a stomach bug, so Cahl and the kids went exploring while I stayed in bed. The headed south down the coast, checking out Ecola State Park and Cannon Beach, as well as the other "must stop" for Tristan: the Goonies rocks! After they'd seen it all, they came back and went to the indoor arcade in Seaside, and had a grand time riding the marry go round and playing all the games.
