This morning Jasen had his tonsils and adenoids removed. He has had strep throat enough that we decided that enough is enough. He went in first thing in the morning, and was done and home within a few hours. He did awesome, and we're all happy it's finally over. We've stocked up on sherbet and popsicles, and he'll be spending the next week or two couch bound, which includes missing the last few days of school.

Memorial Day

We headed up to Salmon for the annual Memorial Day campout. They chose a spot downriver this year, which ended up being very hot, but also very fun. The kids all had a great time riding their motor bikes and playing with all the other kids.

Jasen's class celebrated their 8th grade graduation today with a pizza party at school, followed by an afternoon at Wahooz. The weather was nice, and they were able to enjoy all of the games and rides outside.

Hungry Horse

Cahl spent the week at Hungry Horse dam in Montana, and he was so excited to spend some time in Glacier National Park too! We are looking forward to taking the family back at some point!

This afternoon I came downstairs and this is what I found: "25c for one apple slice!" She was so excited to sell them, and she looked so adorable, so I bought them all!! She keeps asking if she can set up a "sale table" in front of the house. We don't get much traffic by our house, but we might have to set up a table down on the corner for her this summer!

In Idaho, all 4th graders do Idaho history as their unit for the year (I remember doing it myself!), and at the end of the year here in Meridian is a huge Rendezvous! All of the 4th graders from the entire school district, about 3000 of them, come together for a day long Idaho history field trip. They set up about 30 different booths, and each class gets to go to 14 of them. I was able to go spend the day with Hunter's class, and it was so much fun! They learned about black powder rifles, the gems found in Idaho, the history of the Ada County Sheriff's office, square dancing, old pioneer music, stagecoaches, quilting, and gold panning. I can't wait to go with Brinley in a few years!

Bike Rodeo

For Hunter's pack night this month, the older Boy Scouts put together a Bike Rodeo. They set up 4 different obstacles for the kids to maneuver, had a Police officer come and remind the kids the importance of bike safety, and gave out bike lights and treats at the end. There were about 30 kids, but they all had fun and no one got hurt!

Invention Shark Tank

Hunter's GT class has been working hard on their invention/innovations, and tonight they had a presentation to show them all off! The kids had to build a prototype, a poster board, and a flyer- then they had to give us a sales pitch and try to sell us their inventions. They all did an awesome job, and Hunter received so many compliments and positive feedback! His was definitely one of the top 2 inventions of the night!

Dance Recital

The theme for Brinley's dance recital this spring was Dance Around the World, and featured dances from many different countries and cultures. Brinley's group were the Hawaiian/Polynesian girls, and they killed it! They danced to "We Know the Way/Logo Te Pate" and they had one of the best dances of the night!

Mother's Day

This year for Mother's Day, Cahl and the kids really wanted to go spend the day in the mountains. First they took me out to breakfast, then we headed up toward Crouch. We stopped at the beach on the river near Banks, and the river is so high! The rivers are all high, but it was neat to see how high they were everywhere. We drove up above Crouch and scoped out camping spots, and we also stopped and played by the river and the kids shot their BB guns. On the way home we stopped for dinner in Horseshoe Bend, and it was a nice day overall!
