Done with a capital D

Well, the master bedroom and closet are officially done. I have been busting my butt for the last 3 days to get stuff done. In the closet, I only had to hang up Cahl's tie rack and ties and sort one last box of clothes. In the bedroom, we replaced the doorknob which had been broken off a few weeks ago. (For those who don't know, Hunter locked himself in our bedroom about 2 weeks ago, and it happened to be a keyed lock. The only keyed lock in the house with NO key! So with Cahl at school, I broke off the entire doorknob with a hammer to rescue poor Hunter. Luckily it didn't damage the door at all, so we just had to get a new knob.) And I also finally finished the overhead shelves in our bedroom. On one side I have all the stuffed animals Cahl has ever given me (awww), and on the other, I did our Wedding Shelf, with all our wedding keepsakes. (sorry the lighting is not so great)

Also this weekend, we put up the second trophy shelf in Tristan's room, and we put one up for Jasen. I completely cleaned out Jasen and Hunter's closet and put away the last 2 boxes. We shampooed our carpets, and donated a car full of stuff to the Goodwill store. And I managed to wash all the bedding in the entire house, blankets, pillows and all.

So over all, I feel really good about this weekend. I feel like I made a lot of progress in getting the house finished, and I was able to cross a lot of things off my list.

4. Was worried every day for my friends still overseas
5. Went to a lot of beach parties

3 years ago I:

1. Had lived in Las Vegas for 4 months
2. Went back to Salmon for the first time in 2 years
3. Was helping Cahl get ready to go back to school
4. Potty training Jasen
5. Didn't know anyone here besides family

So far this year, I:

1. Visited Salmon
2. Have lost 15 pounds
3. Bought and moved into our first house
4. Started a new job
5. Have taken 4 classes

Yesterday I:

1. Worked all day
2. Played with the dog
3. Got my first paycheck
4. Paid the bills
5. Did a bunch of filing

Today I:

1. Had lunch with Cahl
2. Wrote a paper for school
3. Went to the bank
4. Went grocery shopping
5. Took a nap

Tomorrow I will:

1. Register Tristan for fall football
2. Visit Cahl's grandparents
3. Make a nice dinner for the family
4. Finish the laundry
5. Clean out Jasen and Hunter's closet

In the next year, I will:

1. Turn 25
2. Have 2 kids at full day school
3. Paint and decorate Jasen and Hunter's room
4. Finish organizing and decorating my house
5. Go to Salmon again

A Girl's Room

I saw this in a magazine, and I really love the colors for a girl's room. I don't think I would go as far as the walls and rugs, but I like the bedding and curtains.

Salmon Trip

We got back from Salmon today. We left Vegas last Wednesday night at 9pm, and got to Salmon Thursday morning at 9am. The drive usually goes by pretty fast. The boys sleep most of the way, and we only stop 3-4 times for the restroom and so Buddy could run for a bit.

Thursday night was the Playdays out at the fairgrounds. They did horse races first, and then did the kid events. Tristan and Jasen both ran in the stick horse race. Tristan won last year, but this year he was second place. Then came the greased pig chase. Tristan got close a few times, but didn't catch him. He was disappointed, because he said he was really looking forward to the bacon!

Friday we took the boys and Buddy down to the river to wade and play. They met a little girl there, so together they started to build a dam. Buddy had a great time running around, and Hunter even put his feet in and played with the rocks.

Saturday was the Demo Derby. Unfortunately I forgot my camera in the car, but the boys all had a great time. Tristan got to meet a friend of ours who is an MMA fighter. Tristan has seen his photos in the newspaper, and thought it was pretty awesome that Cahl and I are friends with him. So when we saw him at the Derby, I introduced Tristan and he was excited. Cahl did not do the balloon bop this year, but it was still a good night. The boys even saw Grandpa Jim, and he gave them some Derby t- shirts.

Sunday Cahl and a bunch of friends went and floated the river. So while he did that, the boys and I went over to my friend Gabrielle's parents' house and rode one of her dad's horses named Cowboy. Hunter was so happy the whole time he was up there. I gave him a rope to hold and he had a great time. Tristan and Jasen both did really well. They picked up how to get him to go and stop and turn right away. I am very proud of them for doing so well.

Monday we went for a family drive up around the back mountain roads to see a few lakes. We took Buddy and he had so much fun chasing the cows that we found. Tristan even caught a frog. Then we stopped by my favorite picnic area and the boys ran around and figured out how to use the old fashioned water pump.
