Diorama

Hunter's class at school did a big project this month on animals. Each kid chose their own animal, then brought in a minimum of 3 resources for it. They filled out a 4 page packet with information about their animal, and chose whether they wanted to make a diorama or poster of their animal for a presentation. Hunter chose the moose, and he chose to build a diorama, which he built almost entirely by himself. He did an awesome job on it, and his presentation, and he earned a  perfect score.

Memorial Day

This year for Memorial Day, we headed towards Salmon and met up with a big group of our friends. The weather was back and forth between sunny and rainy, but it was a lot of fun. The kids spent hours riding the go cart and dirt bike around, and Hunter and his friend built a big fort. Tristan, Jasen, and their friend also went on a day hike. Every night, we set up a movie with the projector on the side of the trailer for the kids, and they loved to snuggle up in their blankets and watch it.

 

Pinewood Derby

Tonight was Hunter's first Pinewood Derby. He was so excited, and he worked on his car for weeks. He drew out the design, helped cut it out, sanded it, helped paint it, and helped put it altogether. He didn't win, but he had a great time!

Graduation

Today our sassy little sweetheart graduated from preschool. Since we are headed out of town this weekend, and she will be missing the regular graduation with the rest of her class, her awesome teacher held a special early graduation just for her today. Brinley has learned and grown so much during her 2 years of preschool. Her teacher, Miss Susan, is so amazing. Brinley has loved every day of school, and always wants to be learning more. She is so excited for kindergarten this fall!

Band Concert

Tonight was Jasen's final band concert for this year. They played 3 songs, and did a great job. I'm proud of the progress Jasen has made this year played the trumpet. I do wish that he and Tristan would have kept playing and taking band, but I'm happy that they each did it for at least one year.

Break Dancing

This spring, Hunter took break dancing classes. He really loved it, and he did so well! His class was by far the best at the recital, and brought the house down!

Dance

Tonight was Brinley's spring dance recital. She did so well, and I'm so happy that she loves dance so much!

Concert

A few months ago, I heard that Hunter's favorite band - Foster The People - was coming to town, so I bought 2 tickets. I didn't tell him until we were in the car on the way there, and he was so excited! He had so much fun. It was an awesome show, and a memory that I'm so happy to share with him.

BBQ

Jasen's scout leader put together a cool program for the boys to earn their Cooking Merit Badge. They spent about 2 weeks doing some easy cooking and planning, then put on a big BBQ for all of their families. They planned the entire menu, did all the shopping, and all the prepping and cooking. The boys all did an awesome job, and the food was super yummy!
