This week was the cheer camp, put on by the cheer and dance teams at the high school. Brinley loves going every year, and she always has so much fun!
Field Day
This morning was Brinley and Hunter's field day at school. I spent the morning with Brinley's class, and they had a ton of fun at all the stations. Hunter's class went in the afternoon, and they only got to do one station before they got rained out.
Flower Planting
This evening the Scouts did a service project planting flowers at a local park. It was a bit rainy and dreary, but they did a great job and even got to play under a double rainbow when they were done!
Memorial Day
Traditionally we go to Salmon and go camping for the Memorial Day weekend, but this year most of the group wasn't able to go for one reason or another. So we decided just to go to Salmon for the weekend, and stay in town. Cahl's dad and his wife know a guy who owns a few empty acres just down the street from them, and he agreed to let us park our trailer and stay there. It is the perfect spot!! Right in town, yet tucked back in some trees with a creek running through it. Cahl went up Thursday with the big trailer and got everything set up, and the kids and I headed up Friday evening after all their school stuff. We spent Saturday hanging out, and we took a buggy ride up to UP lake with Jim and Helen. We ran into snow near the lake, but Cahl and the kids made it all the way to the lake! It was still half frozen, but so pretty!
Sunday we spent with Gabrielle and Jared and their boys. Brinley and Hunter loved riding the pony, and the big boys even got to help out with tagging, vaccinating and castrating some of their calves.
Monday was a low key morning before we headed home. It was a great visit, and we're all excited to go back for July 4th!

Habitat Diorama
Brinley's class did a big unit on habitats, and they each chose an animal to do research on, and make a diorama to go along with. Brinley chose the Komodo Dragon, and she did a great job at her class presentation today!
Science Fair
Our elementary school only does a science fair for the 5th graders, so Hunter has been looking forward to this for several years. He did his experiment on whether you can tell what a Geode's void will be like, using specific gravity. He did a great job, and I'm so proud of the effort he put into it- something a little more than Coke and Mentos!
Music Program
Today was Hunter's last elementary school music program. All of the 5th grade put on a terrific program!
Scout Campout
This month the scouts headed up to Stolle Meadows for their fire wood collecting campout. They brought back about a cord of wood, which should last the troop another few years! They even had a deer come into camp, and steal their Starbursts!
Hair Cut
Brinley decided about a year ago that she wanted to donate her hair, and she's been waiting patiently for her hair to grow long enough. A few months ago we discovered that it is long enough, but she wanted to wait until after her dance recital to get it cut. Well, today was the day! She loves her new cut, and was so excited to put her hair in the mail!
Dance Recital
This evening Brinley had her spring dance recital. She loves having so many of her friends in her class, and she loves her teacher Miss Katelyn! Her first teacher, Miss Macie, is retiring so it was sad that this was her last recital, but Brinley is excited to keep dancing with Miss Katelyn in the fall!
10 Years
Today Cahl was awarded his 10 Year service pin, for working for the Federal Government. We sure are proud of him, and everything he has accomplished!
Prom
Tonight was Tristan's junior prom. He took his friend Kailey, and they went with a group of friends. They did photos at Scentsy Commons (She happened to have a baby from her Family Science class this weekend, so it even got to be in a photo!), then had dinner at Kona Grill before heading downtown to the dance. After the dance, they all came back to our house for treats about the fire pit.
