Trek
This week was Trek for Jasen and Hunter. They left bright and early Thursday morning, and got back this evening. Trek this year was up by Banks, and it was much more mountainous then before. Both boys had great families, and they both had great experiences while they walked/hiked a total of 22 miles over the three days.
River Trip
My parents wanted to do something special for Tristan this year after he graduated, so my dad took him on a Snake River jet boat trip through Hells Canyon. They had an awesome time fishing the day before, and on the boat, and I love that they got some special time together.
Swimming
Hunter and Brinley spent most of the month doing swimming lessons, and they both did awesome! Hunter finished up level 5, and Brinley started and finished level 3, and moved into level 4. I'm so proud of how comfortable they are in the water, and love that swimming program we found!
Cheer Camp
The high school cheerleaders put on their annual Grizzly Cub cheer camp this week, and Brinley had so much fun! She loves going to these camps, and getting to know the cheerleaders!
Parade
Brinley's dance studio had a float in the Dairy Days Parade this year, and she was so excited to ride along!
Shirts Lake Hike
For Father's Day today, we went on a hike into Shirts Lake with our friends the Moodys. We got up to the trail head at 2pm, then began our hike down- in several feet of snow! Despite all the snow we didn't count on being there, it wasn't cold, and we made it almost all the way to the lake before we decided to stop and set up a picnic site. The kids had a great time sledding down the hill on their butts and exploring, and roasting hot dogs and marshmellows. The dogs loved running and playing in the snow, and Tristan even hiked all the way down to the lake and through a waterfall. The hike back out was a little longer, but we all made it home before dark and it was a super fun way to spend the day!
Concrete
This year for our Father's Day gift, Cahl had the last concrete slab put in for trailer parking, and a new concrete sidewalk poured in our side yard, that connects our front patio with our back patio. It's a project we've wanted to do since we built the house, and we finally got it done. While Cahl was out of town for work this week, the kids and I went and got a load of landscape rock, and filled in the new space between the sidewalk and the house. Cahl was so impressed when he got home! That side yard is the last part of our yard to finish, and we're working on cleaning it up and making a plan of what we want to do with it.
Hungry Horse
Cahl spent this last week up in Montana at Hungry Horse Dam for work, and he also spent a day at Glacier National Park. It's so beautiful there, and I can't wait to go with him one of these times!
Happy Birthday!
This year Jasen wanted a quiet dinner at home for his birthday, and he loved his gifts- running boards and a speaker box for his truck, Amazon gift card, and more.
