River Crossing

In preparation for this year's Trek, Jasen and Hunter participated in a "Sweetwater River Crossing" reenactment. About 200 people waded down the Boise River, and it was awesome to experience even a tiny bit of what the pioneers went through on their journey.

Band Concert

This evening was Hunter's spring band concert. The band played 2 songs, Shine and Magma, and Hunter played the xylophone. They did an excellent job, and I loved watching him play!

Klondike

While Cahl and I were in Cocoa Beach, Tristan and Hunter attended the Klondike campout this weekend. They both had fun, and I'm so happy that they were able to go together!

Orlando Day 6

This morning we got up early and sat on the beach to watch the sunrise. It was lovely to watch the colors in the sky and water changing, and so peaceful.

After the sun was up, we ate breakfast and headed over to the Kennedy Space Center. All of the history there is fascinating, and there is such a sense of reverence around the shuttles. It was really amazing to see the Atlantis, the engines, and the Hall of Heros. We were even lucky enough to witness a proposal!

After the Space Center, we checked out the pier in Cocoa Beach, then headed back to the beach so Cahl could swim for a few minutes. The day ended with conch fritters for dinner, and a relaxing evening. It was such a wonderful week, and I'm so happy we had the opportunity to run away and spend some time together!

Orlando Day 5

Epcot Day!! I've been looking forward to going to Epcot for a really long time, so today was exciting! Walking through the 12 Pavilions was incredible- I loved all the beautiful architecture and details. We must have walked through all the pavilions at least twice! We also went on several rides- Cahl's favorite was Soarin' Around the World, and mine was Spaceship Earth or Living with the Land. All of the rides were awesome! It was such a fun day, and I'm so happy we were able to go, and I thank Cahl for indulging me!

After our day at Epcot, we drove over to Cocoa Beach, where we are staying the rest of our trip. It was so fun to walk in the ocean, even if it was dark when we got there!
