Swimming Lessons

Brinley took two weeks of swimming lessons this summer, and she did great! She started this summer at a level 4, and ended going into level 5!

Camping

This weekend we got a last minute invite from some friends to go camping with them in McCall, at Ponderosa State Park. They had booked a "companion site," which was a nice camp spot big enough for both of our campers, with power and water hookups. It was a relaxing overnight trip, and we really enjoyed playing at the beach and just hanging out and visiting around a fire.

Boulder Lake

Cahl really wanted to get out and go for a hike this weekend, so today him and I took Hunter and Brinley and hiked into Boulder Lake by McCall. It took a little over an hour to hike up to the reservoir, but the view at the top was totally worth it! We spent a couple of hours there, then hiked back down and headed into McCall for dinner and some swimming at Ponderosa State Park. In total we put in around 8 miles, and my legs are definetly tired, but I'm so happy that we are all healthy and mobile enough to be able to go do these things, and I hope that we can continue doing them on a regular basis!

Fourth of July

Since we just went to Salmon a few weeks ago, we decided to spice things up a little this year and spent a week in southern Utah for the 4th of July. We drove down to Cahl's cousin Stacey's house Monday, and spent Tuesday and Wednesday camping with them. We had a bit of car and dirt bike trouble on the way up and down the mountain, but the camping was fun and we got to see some beautiful new country. On Thursday, we all headed down to the cabin in Duck Creek, where we met Mike and Diana, along with 2 other cousins. We haven't been to the cabin in about 8 years, and if felt so good to be there visiting with everyone. Hunter spent most of his time in the woodshop, building things and riding his dirt bike around. Brinley and Nila were inseparable all week, playing with the dogs and smaller cousins, and riding the small four wheeler around. Jasen spent most of his time helping Mike dig a trench for a neighbor, working around the cabin, and taking the smaller cousins on rides. It was a wonderful week spent with some of our favorite people, and I sure hope we can do it again more often!
