Dance Competition- Spotlight

Today was the last competition of the season, and the girls did great! Contemporary scored diamond and 6th overall, Jazz scored ruby and was the category winner, and Hip Hop also scored diamond. It was also so fun to run into our friends Maddie and Teresa from Salmon, and get to watch Maddie perform.

I am so proud of these girls again this year! They have worked through illnesses and injuries, but they keep showing up and putting in the work and it pays off year after year.

Easter

We made another short but very sweet trip down to Vegas this weekend, for a big family Easter celebration. It was so wonderful to have the house full of cousins and the kids had the best time finding the hundreds of eggs in the yard.

Saturday night Cahl and I took the 13 oldest kids down to New York New York and the Excalibur, so they could ride the roller coaster and Max Flight. They had so much fun, and we loved hanging out with them!

Dance Competition- NYCDA

This weekend we traveled down to Vegas for Brinley's travel competition. We stayed Thursday night with Chrystee and had a nice visit and dinner, then headed out to Lake Las Vegas Friday, which is where the competition was held. The girls performed 2 of their routines Friday night, and they did well. Both jazz and hip hop earned a Gold score, and hip hop was also nominated for a Critic's Choice award. It was so nice that we had a bunch of family come out in support- Luis, Nayeli and Laila, as well as Kelcie and Mia.

Saturday morning and early afternoon was full of workshops for the girls. Brinley really loved the funk fusion class, but not really the jazz classes. Saturday evening they performed their contemporary number, and also scored Gold with a Critic's Choice nomination. We were also excited to see Chrystee, Caitie, Sondra, Diana and Kathy come out to watch.

Sunday morning Brinley attended another funk fusion class, then we hit the road to drive home. It was a fast and furious trip, but it was super fun and a great experience for the girls!

Prom

Tonight was Hunter's senior prom. He surprised Morgan with a brand new Corvette he borrowed from a friend of ours, they took photos at the state capitol building, followed by dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and the dance was held at the Idaho State Museum. They had a great time, and it was a beautiful way to celebrate the end of their high school years.

Happy Birthday!

Today we celebrated Brinley's 15th birthday- time sure is flying! She woke up to decorations on her door, balloons and donuts, Hunter took her to get a birthday drink, then after school she opened her presents before heading to a friend's house for a party. Sunday we celebrated her again, with mush for breakfast and crepes for dinner, followed by an Oreo ice cream cake.

Fireplace

We have been wanting to redo our fireplace and tv wall for several years, and we finally decided on a design. Cahl found the new fireplace and stone, and we framed out the new area, installed the fireplace, put in new surround sound speakers and all the tubing to have all the wires and cables in the walls, added cabinets and shiplap, installed the stone, and built, stained and installed a new mantle. It took us about a week to finish it, but it looks so good and we really love it!
