Texas/Vegas

This last week, Cahl and I traveled down to the ranch in Texas, to pack up all of Mike's belongings and drive them back to Vegas. We got to San Antonio on Saturday, picked up a UHaul, and drove over to the ranch (after stopping at Rudy's, of course). We met up with Louis, one of the other owners, who was gracious enough to meet us there and help us figure out what to pack. Sunday morning we hunted a little, and Cahl shot a pig. Then we spent most of the day sorting and packing all of the clothes and other personal items. We also went out for the evening hunt that day and hunted the next day as well, though Cahl never shot anything else. We honestly had a really good time just driving around the ranch and seeing all the animals. Monday we loaded up the truck and cleaned the house and Tuesday morning we took off early to drive back to Vegas. It took us 19 hours, but we made the trip in one day.

Wednesday was spent unloading and returning the truck, then Cahl had some meetings at Mammoth, and we ended the day with a big family dinner celebrating the February birthdays.

Thursday we met Cahl's mom, his uncle Tom and Aunt Rocky for breakfast, then Cahl had some more meetings to attend, so I hung out at the house and got caught up on work and laundry.

Friday morning we met Cahl's mom, Tom, Rocky, uncle Maxx, cousins Josh, and Chris and his family over at the cemetery for the internment of Cahl's aunt Ruth, who passed away in January. That was followed by a family lunch, and a memorial celebration that evening with friends. It was really nice to see everyone, although the reason wasn't so happy.

Saturday we helped around the house and cleaned up, then flew home that night. It was definitely a heavy week, but I'm glad that Cahl and I were able to go together to get it all done.

Sweethearts Dance

The Sweethearts Dance was this evening, and Hunter went with Morgan while Brinley went with her friend Sadie. The dance was sponsored by an outside organization, so it was open to all the high schools, which was pretty cool. The kids had a great time with friends from all over, and I'm so glad they were able to go!
