Hunter's Haircut

Hunter got his first hairut a few weeks ago. Cahl took all the boys to the salon to get haircuts. I was suprised, Hunter did really well. He never got antsy or cried, but he just sat there and looked around. I was a little sad to see all his beautiful curls falling, but this will be so much nicer in the summer. And now no one will mistake him for a girl again!

whew...

What a weekend! Cahl and I had decided that this last weekend we were going to finish working on this house, since he was off Monday. We wanted to finish the painting, and do some more packing and whatnot. Well, we finished the painting. Done, finished! Then we finished the backyard, filling in the dirt spots with decorative gravel, and having the boys clean up their toys and pick up all the trash and broken toys. Done. We did some more packing as well. So things are slowly getting done.

Our new house is still in escrow. Everything is done, and now we are just waiting for the bank to sign the paperwork and send it over so everyone can sign it. We are really hoping it will get done it the next week or two, but it will definetly happen by March 10. That is the latest date that they can close.

We have been trying to pick out paint colors for the new house. We have a stack of books and palates that we have been going over and over. I think we have settled on a base color. Now we just need to pick out the bathroom/laundry room, kitchen, and kid room colors. And accents! Baby steps, people, baby steps. I am just happy we have picked one. And we have made numerous trips to Lowes and Home Depot looking at faucets, sinks, closet systems, shower rods and curtains, and lots else. I have a lot of stuff picked out, I am just waiting to buy it until things move ahead.

We also took the boys to Red Rock yesterday. We took up a picnic lunch, and then took a hike. They had a great time, and so did Buddy. Hunter was in the backpack, and he enjoyed the ride. It was a nice little family outing.

Brotherly support

Well, another Saturday, another football game. There is Jasen showing his support by wearing Tristan's old jersey. The weather was so nice today, mid sixties and sunny. A perfect afternoon for a game. The team did great. They had to play without one of the key players, who was a few pounds over at the weigh in today. But even without him, they did awesome. Another win, putting them at 4-1 so far this season. These games are the highlight of my week.

Cahl and I got more painting done today. We are almost completly done painting this house. We wanted to get it back to looking new before we move out. Which will hopefully be in the next few weeks, if the bank will get its act together. We are only waiting on 1 0r 2 things to get done, and then the new house will officially be ours. How nice that day will be. But until then, just more packing and painting. The downstairs is done, and we are halfway done with the upstairs. I think we'll have it knocked out in the next 2 days.

Jasen is done with preschool now. His last day was yesterday. He's a little sad, but he's more excited about the new house. He's always asking when when we're going to go to the new house. Hunter is so happy to have a dog. He really loves Buddy. Every morning when I let Buddy in, Hunter stands by the door and laughs and claps his hands. He loves to lay on the dog and snuggle with him. They are so cute together.

Music

Alrighty, after 2 days (and one sleepless night) of trying to figure out how to put music on my blog, I have finally done it!! Victory is mine! As you can tell, I take pleasure in the small things.
Other than that, just more packing. I am currently trying to find a place to get boxes. I have some promising leads, so I'll be trying to work that out today. And doing my home work, and cleaning, and laundry, and.... it never ends.
I just thought I'd share my wonderful musical moment with you all. Hopefully you enjoy what I have picked out. And if not, then too bad. Turn your sound down and read without it. It's my blog, so there!

Our new House

Well, this is it! It needs a little love, but it will be perfect in no time. Cahl and I are both getting so antsy to get moving. We can't wait. It will be sooooooooo nice to finally be in our own space.

Packing...

Well, we have officially begun packing up our stuff. I knew it was going to be a big job, but I had forgotten what a huge pain in the butt it is. I have decided that we have way to much stuff! The boys have been helpful (?) with a lot of it. Cahl has also started painting some of the rooms. Hopefully we'll be out of this house in 3-4 weeks. It feels good to get started, but it stinks to run out of boxes halfway through something!
Anyway, other than that we are just up to our same old stuff. Cahl, Tristan, Jasen and I are all in school once again. And Tristan is still playing football. The winter season kicked off three weeks ago. So far his team is 2-1. The last game was a blow out, and his team won with a final score of 41-6. It was a lot of fun to watch. Especially since two of the kids made their first touchdowns ever.
I guess that's about it for today. Nothing too exciting, but I just needed a little break from packing. So... back to the boxes I go!
