This week Hunter started his college career down at Boise State. He is majoring in Biology, and so far he's pretty happy to have some friends in some of his classes.
Cahl's Elk
This year Cahl drew an elk tag, and he was able to go up to Salmon this weekend and do a little hunting. He got a cow, and he had it home and in the freezer by Sunday evening.
Happy Birthday!
We celebrated Cahl's 44th birthday a few days early this year at the house, since he is headed up to Salmon today for elk season. He got some great gifts, including a new vacuum sealer and the vertical smoker he has wanted for the last few years.
Back to School
Camping
We were able to book a spot up at Ponderosa again for 2 weeks this summer, and it was such a nice getaway. We spent the first weekend there with our friends Adam and Syd and their girls, as well as our kids, Morgan, and her friend. By coincidence we also happened to be in the spot next to our friends the McCarney's and their crew, so it was super fun to have so many people there. The kids had so much fun checking out downtown, paddleboarding, and wake surfing on Jake's boat.
The second weekend, Cahl and I took Brinley and 2 of her friends, and they had a blast. The paddleboarded, rode the bumper boats, shopped, cliff jumped, and took the buggy all around the peninsula.
For the last weekend, Cahl and I went up Wednesday evening, hung out and worked on Thursday and Friday. Jasen and his girlfriend Elena came up Friday night, and on Saturday they went jetskiing while Cahl and I went to the farmers market then went out and toured the little historical town of Roseberry. It was so much fun to tour the old buildings and learn the history of the town. Then in the evening we took the kids out to dinner before they headed home. Sunday morning Cahl and I got up early and packed everything up to head home as well, since Cahl had to head out on a work trip that evening. We have loved being able to have a spot up there each summer, where we can all come and go and spend time together!
