Boys

This morning the boys' school had an award ceremony for the second trimester. Tristan received the perfect attendance award. Jasen received the perfect attendance award, and he made the straight A Honor Roll for a second time! Jasen also received the Outstanding Athletic Effort award from his PE teacher, and he was the only 1st grader to get it! He was SO proud, his face lit up and he just beamed the rest of the time! I am so proud of him. He really puts 100% into everything he does, and it's nice when he gets recognized and rewarded for it.

Football~ Bonecrushers vs Fury

The second game of the day was also against the Fury, this time it was the midget teams playing. The game went well, and we won 32-6.

After the game, Cahl took Tristan with some friends out to the big Scout Expo. The boys had a ton of fun, and Tristan earned 5 more beltloops! We joke with him that he's going to need a second belt soon to hold all his beltloops!

Football~ Bonecrushers vs Fury

Today the boys played against the Fury. The peewee game was first, and our Bonecrushers lost 21-0. Tristan did really well, and so did Jasen. He got some really good blacks today. Two of Tristan's good friends play on the Fury, so it was nice to see them. It was funny to see Tristan talking to them and giving them high fives on the field during the game!

Scouts

Tonight was pack meeting at scouts. Earlier this month was the yearly Scout Day Camp, so the scouts received lots of awards this month. Day Camp is a 3 day program where they do TONS of activities, such as bb gun shooting, archery, obstacle courses, physical fitness, geology, astronomy, ect. They go Thursday and Friday evenings after school and all day Saturday. Tristan was able to go Thurs and Fri, and half day on Saturday due to his football game. So at pack meeting this month, he earned his geology and astronomy belt loops, as well as 3 new arrow points. He was super excited, as always!

Football~ Bonecrushers vs Wolverines

Today Tristan also played in a midget game against the Wolverines. Our Bonecrushers did great, winning 30-7. Now we are 4-2, with 3 regular games left for the season. Things are looking good! (Sorry there are no photos, I came home with the 2 littlest ones and forgot to leave the camera with Cahl.)

Football~ Bonecrushers vs Cowboys

Today was the first game of the Peewee season, so both Jasen and Tristan played in that game this morning. They both played really well, even though their team lost 21-0. Jasen had some really good tackles during the kick returns, and Tristan really hustled out there today. He got several great blocks and a several key tackles. He was really pumped up for this game, because last week at practice his coaches called him out as the best offensive player of the last game. Every week, the coaches award the players $20. $5 goes to the first player to make a turnover- be it a fumble recovery, interception, or stripped ball. $5 goes to the most impressive touchdown. $5 goes to the best offensive player and the last $5 goes to the best defensive player. During the last game, Tristan played mostly on the line, so for his coaches to notice him and call out an offensive lineman as the best offensive player was really cool. Tristan also told me that his coaches told all the other peewee players to listen to Tristan during the games. Since he is the most senior player on the team, and he knows what he is doing, so he's one of the team leaders. He definitely helps the littler kids out, telling them where to go and what to do. It's kind of neat for him, since this is his last peewee season.

Baby B

Brinley had her first postpartum check up on Wednesday, and she's doing super! She is up to 7 pounds, 14 ounces and 21 inches. She's still sleeping well and eating even better. Today her belly button nub fell off, and now she has the most perfect belly button ever! I can't wait to give her a real bath.

Football~ Bonecrushers vs Jaguars

Today the Bonecrushers played the Jaguars. Jasen, Hunter, Brinley and I stayed home while Cahl took Tristan. We spanked those Jaguars- winning 37-0! So now the Bonecrushers are 3-2 for the season, and looking solid for the rest of the season. No photos today, Cahl is not a picture taker- he is a down marker holder!

Too Soon?

Perhaps I spoke too soon. Spit up is upon us. Or rather, Brinley. And me. Hmmm. But it's not to bad. Not like projectile vomiting. But I still hope it goes away asap! Other than that, she is perfect. Still sleeping 3-4 hours at a time, including at night. When she is awake, she's very content to sit and chill with us.

Baby B

Brinley is doing so well. I wanted to make a note of some of the things she's doing.

She is a great sleeper. Last night she slept for 7 hours, woke up, ate, and went back to sleep for another 2 hours. Hopefully we'll keep that up!


She has hardly spit up at all, I could probably count on one hand the number of times she has spit up since she's been born. Hopefully that keeps up too!


She likes her brothers. She'll just stare at them when they stare at her! Tristan does a funny little kiss thing on the top of her head, and she really likes it. She'll always just get so still and content when he does it. The other day I was holding her and Hunter pointed at her and said "that's our baby and we're gonna keep her forever!"

She is very serious. When she's awake, she's pretty content looking around and listening to everyone. She smiles some, but mostly she frowns at us when we talk to her. I think she is just concentrating on what we are saying to her. She especially frowns at me. I think she's mad at me for something. She loves daddy, and will sit and rock with him forever- or at least until she gets hungry!

Introducing...

Brinley Jeanne Gouker

made her grand entrance this morning, April 4, 2010, at 6:15am. She weighed in at 7 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20 inches long. She was born here at home, and only 11 days late! Labor and delivery went well, and we are both doing great. I had had contractions off and on through out the day yesterday, and they started getting stronger around 6:30pm, but were still an hour apart. Around 11pm they were about 10 minutes apart, and getting more intense, so at 12:30 we called our midwife. She arrived just after 1am, and I was dialated to a 7, but my contractions were still somewhat sporadic, so we all just tried to rest while we waited. Then around 5:30am, the contractions were strong enough to start pushing, so I did but my water had still not broken. So right about 6:15, the midwife broke my water, and out came Brinley! She is the cutest thing (well, girl anyway!) that we have ever seen! And we are all in love. The boys couldn't be happier. They came in pretty quick to meet her, and haven't stopped checking on her and loving on her since!

Easter

Today we went over to Cahl's uncle's house for the annual Easter egg hunt. We got there early so all the kids could dye and decorate their eggs, and then the grown ups hid all the eggs while the kids played. Then it was hunting time! The little kids have their own yard for eggs, and then the bigger kids have another yard for theirs. Hunter did amazing! He found more eggs than anyone else, and his basket was overflowing! After the eggs had all been found, we had the big Easter ham dinner. Then after the kids all played with their new things, and ate some candy, we came home and just hung out for the rest of the day. So it was a great day, and we all had a good time visiting with family.
