Today is Cahl's and my 18th anniversary. We definitely didn't choose the easiest path sometimes, but I couldn't have hoped for a better man to be by my side for the last 18 years. He always keeps me laughing (even when I don't want to), he always believes in me, and he is always there to lift me up when I need it!
Halverson Lakes hike
Today we decided to get out of the house and go for a hike. We met some friends down at the Halverson Lakes trailhead, and took off. We hiked to the lakes, then on to the rock house and back. It was around 7 miles total, and the kids and dogs all did awesome! I'm excited to do this more often as a family, I'd love to find different places to go a few times a month.
Trellis
Since we are all staying home and out of school due to the current Covid-19 virus crisis, we have had a lot of time to do projects around the house. Today Cahl and Hunter built a trellis for our blackberry bushes. It looks so awesome, and I'm so excited to see our berries growing up, and not out into the yard!
Lost Tooth
Last night Brinley discovered one of her teeth was loose, and she worked hard today to pull it out all by herself!
Birthday
Today for my birthday, everyone spoiled me with breakfast, flowers, and a delicious crepe dinner followed by German Chocolate cake. Cahl's new shed was also installed today, so that was exciting!
Denver
This month Cahl spent a few days in Denver for work, and he spent his spare time visiting Dinosaur Ridge, and checking out the dinosaur tracks.
Bunk Beds
Some of our good friends are the Boise area presidents of Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a charity that builds and delivers bunk beds (complete with mattresses, pillows, and bedding) to kids that don't have beds. Over the last few years, SHP has grown from a local charity to having hundreds of branches nationwide, and provided thousands of beds to kids. Our family has been involved with SHP for quite some time- Cahl and the boys have participated in several bed builds and deliveries as scout projects, and we've always tried to help to donate bedding and pillows whenever they need. Tonight we had the opportunity, as a family, to deliver and build 2 sets of bunk beds to a family in Nampa. It was awesome to see my kids working together to help out other kids in need, and getting a hug from their thankful mom at the end was so touching. I definitely hope that this is something that we can continue to do as a family on a more regular basis.
