Spring Break ~ Days 7-9 ~ At Sea and Coming Home

We spent Friday and Saturday at sea, headed back to Galveston. We ice skated, mini golfed, body boarded, rock walled, played at the arcade, soaked and swam, went to the Broadway show, Hunter loved the towel folding class, played trivia, and just had a great time together. We docked back in Galveston Sunday morning, and after debarking, we rode the bus back to the airport in Houston to fly home. It was truly a wonderful vacation- a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure!

Spring Break ~ Day 6 ~ Jamaica

Thursday morning we got to our final port, Falmouth Jamaica. The port itself was really neat- it's set up like a triangular peninsula with a cruise ship on each side, and the port courtyard and shops in the middle. We spent some time browsing the shops, and Brinley had her hair braided by the sweetest lady.

We then took a taxi to the Blue Water beach club, where we spent several hours soaking up the sun and swimming in the beautiful warm water. The sand was so fine, it was like a powder that stuck to your skin.

Once we decided it was time for lunch (and the beach was a bit too crowded), we took a taxi back to the port to pick out some souvenirs before boarding the ship for the last time. We spent the afternoon resting, rock climbing, body boarding, bouldering, and meeting Po before dinner.

Spring Break ~ Day 5 ~ Grand Cayman

Wednesday morning we got to Grand Cayman about an hour earlier than scheduled, so we had a little extra time to catch a tender (little ferry boat that takes you from the ship to the dock, since there is not an actual port) that took us to Georgetown. We walked through the shops while we waited for the bus that took us to the boat that took us out to Stingray City.

Stingray City was the most incredible experience! It is a big sandbar 7 miles off the coast of Grand Cayman, where tons of stingrays congregate. The water is shallow enough that you can stand and shuffle through the sand, while the stingrays swim all around, and you can also snorkel. The tour guides will hold a ray, so you can pet it, kiss it, and have your photos taken. The rays are so patient and gentle, and it was the best!

After our time was up at Stingray City, we headed over to Rum Point Beach for some beach time and lunch. The beach was beautiful and shady, and the perfect spot of lunch before the boat took us back to catch the bus back to the port.
