Spring Break ~ Days 8-9

Saturday Cahl and I spent our 17th Anniversary having breakfast with Maxx, taking the kids to Ikea, and spending time with the whole family at a wedding reception. It was such a wonderful evening, and I'm so happy we were able to see everyone! Sunday we got on the road early and headed home. Another amazing spring break is in the books!

Spring Break ~ Day 7

Friday morning Mike had to fly out early, so the rest of us cleaned up the boat, and headed back to Vegas. Cahl, Jasen and I took a slight detour and drove down to San Clemente for breakfast and a quick visit to the pier and Semper Fi Park. Most of Friday was spent driving back to Vegas, meeting up at Mike's, and going to bed early!

Spring Break ~ Day 6

Thursday was a pretty quiet day spent in Newport. We went over to Balboa Beach for a few hours. The kids had so much fun boogie boarding, swimming, and playing in the sand. Cahl even had a great time building a giant sand snake!

In the evening, we rented a little electric boat, picked up some pizza, and did a sunset dinner cruise around Newport Harbor. It was a great way to end our week at the beach.

Spring Break ~ Day 5

Wednesday we spent the morning over by the Casino building, which is now a theater. The art-deco architecture is so cool, and I wish we could've caught a tour of the inside. Next time! The kids had a great time collecting snails and lining them up for a race. Cahl and Stacey also explored the rocks, and found an Abalone and a crab.

In the afternoon we took a submarine ride around the bay. It was super cool to see the fish up close, and feed them right outside the window! After our submarine ride, Cahl and I went to the Island Museum. It was so nice, and the island has so much amazing history! Once everyone was back on the boat, we bid farewell to Catalina and headed back to Newport Beach. This was such an incredible experience! My grandma spent a lot of time on Catalina in the 1940's, and visiting Catalina Island has been on my bucket list for years. I loved every second of it, and am so grateful to have gotten to go!

Coming back into Newport Harbor, we passed a buoy covered in seals, and we even had a pod of dolphins right next to our boat, swimming and jumping along side us! How cool is that!?

Spring Break ~ Day 4

Tuesday morning Diana had to head home, but the rest of us went on a golf cart tour of Avalon Bay in the afternoon. It was so much fun to go up to the top of the ridge and look down over the bay- it's so beautiful! We also went around and saw the Bell Tower and Descanso Beach. It was the perfect way to spend an afternoon- the kids loved riding in the golf carts, and the adults loved seeing the historic buildings and the views!
