Cahl gave me a new kitchen faucet that I've had my eye on for several years, and an awesome new piece of art for the living room for Christmas. We got them both installed today, and I'm so pleased with both of them!
Trap
It was super foggy today, but we ventured out to Kuna to shoot some trap anyway. Hunter was so excited to try out his new shotgun, and he did great! Him and Jasen had a friendly competition, and Cahl proved that he's still a crackshot! Brinley loves her 22, and was smoking the clays on a stand!
Christmas
This year we had a great Christmas, with Cahl's mom and dad and Tristan all coming over early to open gifts and visit. Cahl's dad wanted to head back to Salmon pretty quick to avoid a storm rolling in, but Cahl's mom and Tristan both came back in the evening for dinner. It was a relaxing day, and we all got some great gifts and had a lot of fun.
Sledding
This year we decided to Eagle Island for our annual Christmas Eve sledding. We had so much fun, and followed it up with a delicious brunch at Merritt's. The rest of the day was pretty quiet, and we enjoyed our annual Christmas Eve movie too!
Santa Visit
Every year our church ward typically has either a Christmas breakfast or dinner for everyone to get together and enjoy the company. This year, like most other things, it got cancelled- so instead we came up with the idea of having a Santa parade float, to go through the neighborhood and visit all the kids. Cahl and I were part of the planning and building, nd the finished product turned out so well! Cahl built and painted reindeer to attach to our buggy, and our neighbor built sleigh sides to put on the side of our trailer. We put a big comfy chair for Santa to ride on, and surrounded him with presents and music. It took about 3 hours to drive through the neighborhoods and visit the kids, but everyone loved it so much! There were so many happy families and the weather was perfect for being outside! I really hope this is something we can make an annual tradition!
Happy Birthday!
Hunter had a fantastic weekend as we celebrated his 14th birthday! Saturday he went with a group of friends to an escape room (where they escaped in the nick of time), Sunday we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse followed by cake and presents, and Monday he woke up to a giant birthday cake on the front porch!
Dance Recital
Brinley's dance studio wasn't able to hold a live recital this winter, but they were able to get the girls together to video their performance. They had a great time putting on full hair and makeup, and performing 2 of their numbers! Brinley and I also had fun this fall putting together her outfit for "9-5," and she looked great!
Oh Christmas Tree
We finally had a free afternoon and evening to go pick out a Christmas tree and get it decorated. The kids always have fun (some more than others) hanging up their own ornaments, and I love seeing how happy they get finding the perfect place for them!
Christmas in Color
This year there is a huge, drive through light display down at the Boise Fairgrounds. It was synced with music, and we all had so much fun driving though it- especially Brinley who sat out the sun roof!
Thanksgiving
This year was a nice, quiet Thanksgiving at home. Tristan wasn't here, since he and a friend went down to Utah for the weekend, but Cahl's mom came over to have dinner with us. Hunter and Brinley were so excited to help with the pies this year, and they both made 2. Hunter made apple and pumpkin, and Brinley made cherry and lemon cream. They did an awesome job, and the pies were delicious!
Target Practice
It was a bit chilly today, but we packed up our pumpkins and some old paint cans and headed out to the desert for some target practice. We all had fun "painting" our pumpkins, and the boys went out for a dirt bike ride on the way home.
