Today we went up to Mt Charleston with our friends to go sledding. There was barely enough snow to sled, but the kids had a blast anyway. It snowed while we were there, so hopefully we can go back again in a few weeks. We had a campfire lunch and it was really fun. On the way down, we had to stop because a life-flight helicopter was landing on the road to pick someone up. I don't know what happened, but scary still.
Tree Hunting
We took all the kids up to Caliente today to go Christmas Tree hunting. We got there fairly early, so we bought our tags and went to breakfast. Then we headed up the mountain to find some good trees. After we found the trees, we did a little target shooting. The boys all took turns, and so did Cahl and I. It was a lot of fun, and the whole day was great!
Bruiser
Jasen wrecked his scooter on the way home from school yesterday. He was trying to jump the curb, and ended up eating his handlebars instead. The handlebars twisted and hit him in the cheek, right next to his nose. I took him in to Urgent Care and luckily he didn't need stitches. But he ended up with a perfect round imprint on his face, and a nice big black eye just in time for Thanksgiving!

7 months
Brinley went in today for her 7 month checkup. She is still doing well! She weighs 18 pounds, 12 ounces. And she's now 26 inches long. The doctor said she's doing excellent with her mobility and alertness, and all her motor skills are perfect! She got 3 shots today, and let the nurse know she was NOT impressed!

Preschool
Since Hunter started preschool a few months ago, I had not had a turn to teach yet. But today was my first day! Cahl and Hunter helped me set up this excellent area, and Jasen helped me shop for school supplies and snacks. I had made some lesson plans, and I felt very prepared, and super excited to teach. And it went so well! I had plenty of things planned to keep them busy and interested, and I was also able to stay on time. There were no meltdowns, and everyone had fun. Plus Brinley was really good the whole time, which was a relief for me. So I'm really happy about it, and hopefully it goes this well every time!
Football ~ Bonecrushers vs Falcons
Tristan's team played against the Falcons tonight. They tried hard, but ended up losing 41-7. The boys get so discouraged if the other team scores early in the game, and after a while it seems like they give up. That was their last regular season game, and it stinks that they lost. But they still end the season in 4th place at 3-4, which means that they'll still get to go to the playoffs! So depending on how they do next week against the Cowboys will determine their final ranking for the season.

Clark County Museum
Cahl and the boys also had today off, so we made our way out to the Clark County Museum. It was really neat, and they had a ton of stuff to see outside. There are houses from the late 1800s and early 1900s that have been moved out there and restored that you can go in and see what they would have been like. There is also a train depot from Boulder City, and a lot of old mining equipment. And there was a lot of wildlife running around- rabbits, quail, and even a roadrunner. It was fun to see it all and be able to feel like you are actually there.
