Veteran's Day

Since Cahl and the boys all had the day off of school and work for Veteran's Day today, we decided to head up to Mt. Charleston for an afternoon picnic and play day. We got up there around 3:30 and it was a balmy 31 degrees. So we got our campfire going, and got the hot chocolate brewing. Brinley sat on my lap all bundled up, and after a while she got upset with me because she wanted to get down and play! After the boys played in the snow and hiked the hills, we roasted hot dogs and had dinner. Then after it got dark, and we were near frozen, we roasted marshmellows but decided to forgo the rest of the smore ingredients so we could pack up and head home. By the time we left, just after 5, it was down to a nippy 22 degrees. As soon as we got home, we cranked up the heater and Cahl and the boys all got into the hot tub. Even though it was colder than we had anticipated, we all had a lot of fun.
