Oregon

The kids got to go sepnd all of last week in Oregon with Cahl's mom. They had a lot of fun, and we appreciate her having them each summer.

Projects

While we are still packing and getting ready to move, we've been doing some furniture projects. We bought this big dresser 10 years ago when we lived in California for Tristan, and it has been awesome. It's solid, and still in great condition, and I want to pass it over to Brinley. So Cahl painted it and fixed a few things, and I put on new knobs and these cute stickers on the drawers, and it's perfect! She is so excited about it, and it's going to look great in her new room.

I also took a pair of nightstands that we had and painted them to match Jasen's new furniture. I also put some shelf liner in the drawers, and they turned out great, and he really likes them.

Scouts

Tonight was Jasen's last Pack Meeting as a cub scout. This month our little over achiever earned the Artist, Athlete, Family Member, and Showman pins. He also earned the Physical Fitness sport pin and his last compass point. Jasen has been like a super scout this year, and since he earned every pin in his Webelo book, I got him a special "Webelo Super Achiever 20" patch, to commemorate all his hard work. I am so very proud of all the effort he put in, and I'm excited to see how far he'll go in Boy Scouts.

House

Everything at the house is almost done now. The carpet and other flooring and baseboards are done, the tile and vents are finished, all of the bathroom hardware is up, the doorknobs are all in, and yesterday the landscaping all went it. We do our first walk with the builder tomorrow to identify any problems or things we want done, and once that's all finished, we can sign the paperwork (hopefully this week) and start moving in (probably in the next week or so).

Happy 4th!

This year we decided not to go to Salmon like we normally do, and instead had a pretty mellow 4th of July. After accidentally giving everyone food poisoning the night before, we mostly just hung around the house and took it easy. Then at dark we went down and watched the city fireworks with some friends, then went to their house to light off ours. The big boys had so much fun being in charge of our light show, and the little ones loved the sparklers!
