Master

Somehow in the middle of all this house craziness and moving, Cahl finished all of his school work and earned his Master's Degree! He now has a Master of Business Administration, specializing in Management of Engineering and Technology. He's such a smart cookie, and we are all so proud of him!

Projects

Some of the other projects we got done pretty quickly were putting shelf liner in all the kitchen cabinets. It looks great, and I'm so happy we got it all done.

 

Cahl also came up with this cool idea of pillars to go under the mantle, to hide all the TV cords in. So we built them, painted them, and installed them and they look awesome! The Before and After:

 

The builders have also come and replaced the front door, since the original one had been broken on the bottom and did not have a peephole. And they came and replaced the cabinet above the fridge to be the taller size it was supposed to be.

 

Jamboree

Jasen's football Jamboree was this morning. The team scrimmaged another team, and even though they tried hard, they didn't do so well. But the season has now started, so hopefully they do better moving forward.

Football ~ Jasen

Jasen is playing football again this fall, and practice started for him at the beginning of August, with the Jamboree to kick off the season this weekend. He's been doing really well, and has memorized the playbook. He plays mostly defensive guard or end, sometimes offensive guard, and sometimes special teams. He's also really happy, because he got on the team with 2 of his close friends and a ton of kids he's gone to elementary school and now middle school with.

Fencing

Well, it took us about 4 days to completely move everything, but we are now officially moved into our new house. The first project on our list was building the fence. We started on our western fence, and had it knocked out in a few days. Tristan and Jasen have really been amazing during all this. They have busted their butts everyday digging holes, helping set the posts, screwing up pickets. It would have taken us much longer without all their hard work, and we really appreciate all they've done. After we got the western stretch done, we built the gates for the front, then built another fence with gates from the back of the house to the fence, which will enclose our trailer parking and dog run. We also had to transplant the tree from the front to the back yard, and move all the sod from the front to the dog run area.

 

Once everything on the western side was done, we started on the northern side, which we share with our new neighbors. We worked together with them and built the long stretch between our yards, then we built our side fence that connects to the house. We also built a small gate on that side, so we have easy access to the yard on either side of the house. In total, we built several hundred feet of fence as well as 6 gates. What a pain in the butt it was, but it sure feels good to be done with it!
