Eagle Island

Cahl's dad came to visit for the weekend, and since the weather has been so nice, we took the kids up to Eagle Island for a picnic. They always have fun, and Mason loves it too!

 

Klondike

Cahl and the older 2 boys ventured up to the annual Klondike campout this weekend. Unfortunately, this year was a bit of a dud. We haven't really gotten any snow since December, but we've gotten quite a bit of rain in the last few weeks and all the snow has melted. So the boys stayed in their tents instead of snow caves, and it rained and the wind howled the whole time. They still did a lot of activities and games, but Cahl and our boys decided to head home early since it was so miserable and we had company coming anyway. Hopefully next year will be better!

Hair Cut

I have been wanting to get Brinley a hair cut for quite a while, but really struggled with the idea of cutting off her long beautiful hair, especially since she has never had one. But her hair was just getting too long, and hard to handle. And I have a friend who does hair, so Brinley was excited to get her hair cut. And it looks so cute! It's so much easier to take care of, and since she loves to wear it down, now she can without it being miserable. I do have to admit, while she was getting her hair cut I was a little choked up and had to fight the urge to scoop up the pile of hair on the floor!

 

Toyota Bomber

Cahl has been looking for a while for an older Toyota truck. He wants to use it as his around town vehicle for now, and eventually it will probably become Tristan's. So today he saw one in a parking lot with a sign on it, met the guy and bought it! He got a screaming deal on it, and even though it needs a little work, it's exactly what he was looking for. The kids are all excited to help him work on it, and Brinley COULD NOT wait to go for a ride around the neighborhood!

Built Ins

While we were picking out and building our house we opted not to have a closet put in our office, because Cahl and I had some ideas for built ins. So last weekend, we decided it was time to make them happen. Cahl is so amazing at building things and making them a reality. We built bookshelves with lower cabinets on either side of the windows, and a bench seat between. The bench also opens up on both sides- with one side being a filing cabinet and the other for storage. We are both super happy with the results, and they are so perfect for our needs!
