Garden

We got our garden boxes built and planted, and everything is coming is great. I was surprised by how big everything grew so fast, but it's been fun. The kids love helping water and take care of it.

 

 

 

Family Reunion

Last weekend part of my family was able to have a mini reunion here in Meridian. My Uncle Bob and Aunt Shirley came from Iowa. His son, my cousin Matt and his wife Brandi, and their family came from Minnesota. And my Uncle Tom and Aunt Sheila came from Arizona. It was so wonderful to see everyone! We hadn't seen Tom and Sheila for 10 years, or Matt's family for almost 14. It was awesome to meet his kids, and everyone to meet ours. There are some cousins that are the same ages too, so that made it really fun.

Friday we met at a park and had a picnic so the kids could get out and play. All of the boys (including the biggest boys!) had fun throwing a football around, and the little ones played in the splash pad. That night we had dinner and a great visit at my sister's house.

 

Saturday we all went out to the Old Idaho Penitentiary museum, which was really cool. Later that evening we had a BBQ here at our house and had another really nice visit.

 

 

Sunday morning we went and had breakfast and swimming with everyone before Matt's family had to leave. Later in the afternoon we went out to Black Canyon Reservoir for a picnic dinner and last visit before everyone else had to leave early Monday morning. It was so awesome to see everyone, and get to spend so much time with them. I am hoping we can see everyone who wasn't able to come soon.

 

 

Fathers and Sons

This weekend was the annual Fathers and Sons campout. Cahl was able to take a day off of work, so he and the boys could go up a day early and stay for 2 nights with some others. They all had a great time! I love that they get to do that every year, and Brinley and I get a girls only night!

Fishing

Since Jasen is 12 now, he moved up to a new scout troop. He'll be with the Deacons for the next 2 years, and he's really excited about it. His scout troop went fishing tonight, and he caught a bunch of fish! He and Cahl had a great time, and I'm so happy that they get to go do that stuff.

Birthday

Jasen turned 12 today, and it's so crazy to think that he's almost a teenager too. He didn't really want to do anything special this year, so I just made him a special dinner and dessert, and we did gifts, then Cahl took him and Tristan to the new Mad Max movie.
