We got up, had breakfast, and made our way to the port Sunday morning. After a surprisingly smooth and fast check in, we were on our way onto our ship- the Liberty of the Seas. The ship is massive, and so beautiful! We spent the next few hours finding our staterooms and exploring the ship before we set sail. We had 2 adjoining staterooms, with an adjoining balcony, and they were large and comfortable. We quickly found the mini golf, pools and pizza restaurant! After the muster drill (which is were we learn what to do and where to go in case of an emergency), we had dinner in the main dining room. The dining room was beautiful, the food was amazing, and the waiters even brought me cheesecake and sang Happy Birthday to me. It was a wonderful first day!
Spring Break ~ Day 1 ~ Galveston
This year we decided it was time for a super sized spring break. So we booked a week long cruise to the Caribbean! We flew out early Saturday morning headed to Houston, where we caught a shuttle bus down to Galveston. We got there early enough to check in to our hotel and head to the beach. It was a beautiful day, the beach was awesome, and we had a nice evening in downtown Galveston.
Scout Campout
This month the scouts went camping out at Givens Hot Springs. They had a great time swimming Friday night, followed by a hike at China Ditch Saturday. Hunter is absolutely loving getting to go on all the campouts with Cahl, and Cahl is happy to have one of his boys to take along.
Wrestling Dinner
Tonight was Tristan and Jasen's end of the season wrestling dinner. Their coach called up Jasen and congratulated him on a great first season, and said he is looking forward to next year with him. He also called up Tristan and congratulated him on another great season. He mentioned how much he appreciates Tristan's willingness to wrestled where the team needs him- whether that's at 220 pounds, or 195 pounds- and that Tristan works hard and never complains. Tristan also earned his Varsity Letter and wrestling pin, which is so awesome! He's also looking forward to next season.
Spartan
Tristan is currently taking a Military History class (which he loves!), and their big project this semester was to build a life-sized Spartan shield, along with a spear, helmet, and body armor. Tristan has been saving a huge cardboard box for months, and he was so excited to build his stuff. He did his project almost completely by himself, and it turned out great!
