Cruise- Days 1-5

Many months ago, Cahl booked a cruise for he and I, to celebrate my graduation. We've been looking forward to it for months, and it was so nice to get away and spend some time together. We took an overnight flight down to Ft. Lauderdale, and got there early Thursday morning. We spent the day exploring the beach and shops, resting, and enjoying a Thanksgiving dinner at our hotel restaurant. Stacey and Andy flew in late that night as well, so we were excited to meet up with them the next day.

Friday we spent doing more exploring, shopping, and swimming at the beach and pool. The beach there is beautiful, and we loved opening our balcony door so we could hear it!

Saturday morning we had breakfast at an amazing little French bakery, then wandered through a farmer's market on our way back to the hotel. Once we had everything packed up, we caught a ride over to the port and boarded our ship- the Oasis of the Seas. Stacey had not been on a cruise in many years, and this was Andy's first, so it was fun to show them around and tour the ship. The crew was busy decorating it for Christmas, and it was really beautiful.

Sunday and Monday were both sea days, so we really enjoyed not having anything to do and just relaxing. We played a lot of trivia, found a lot of ducks (Cahl even found Jesus!), took some naps, and enjoyed all the food.

Pig Hunt

This morning Cahl, Jasen, Hunter, and I went down to Shoshone for the annual pig hunt. We met some friends there, and everyone had a great time getting their pigs and hanging out together.

Tristan Award

Big day for Tristan today, he earned the German Schuetzenschnur, which is a marksman proficiency cord. The gold means that he qualified expert with the German weaponry. He's doing awesome over in Europe, and we're super proud of him!

Tyson

Today was a devastating day for our family. We said goodbye to our best buddy, Tyson. He had been having some health issues for a few years, and he had really been struggling for the last few months. When he couldn't stand up by himself anymore, we knew it was time to let him go. He had a great last few days, filled with all the treats, apples, and whip cream he wanted, and naps on the couch. We're sure going to miss this guy- he really was our best friend, and the best dog anyone could have ever dreamed of.

Driver's Ed

Brinley has worked hard over the last few weeks on her driver's ed. She did all of the course work in the first week, then had to wait a few weeks for the driving school to received her permit. Today she finished the driving portion of the course, and she passed with flying colors! She is so excited to drive and track her hours with us for the next few months, and is looking forward to being on her own next spring.
