San Diego- Saturday

Saturday we got up somewhat early and went out in town for a while while our friends were still sleeping. We hit up a CVS to stock up on some snacks, went to a really cool pet store, and hit the swap meet. The boys loved the pet store, they had all kinds of turtles, tortoises, snakes, fish, puppies, ect. The swap meet was awesome!! It was huge, and we didn't even have time to see it all. I found some adorable handmade headbands for Brinley for only $1.50, and I saw the most amazing purse ever!! I have been kicking myself for the last 3 days that I didn't buy it!! After we left the swap meet, we headed back to the hotel to get ready for Tristan's game. The game was held at San Diego High School, and it was really cool. We had an awesome viewing spot! The bleachers were all made of concrete, and there was a big open area at the top for bathrooms and concessions and whatnot. So we set up our big ez-up tent with some chairs and watched the game from up there. It was great, we could see the entire field clearly, and the boys could still hear us cheering! I'll tell you what, Brinley can sleep through ANYTHING!!! She slept through the whole game, even while 2 different air horns were going off on either side of her! The game was perfect, and we won 34-0. It was a good way to end the tournament.

After the game, we headed back to the beach! We went to La Jolla beach, and it was so nice. The sand is super fine, and the waves were big enough for the boys to boogie board, but still small enough that the little boys didn't get knocked down. We set up the tent there too, and laid out a big sheet under for Brinley and I to lay on. That girl loves being outside! She sat in a floatie ring forever, just looking around. Then she laid on the sheet. And after a while, she got sleepy. So I held her and she fell asleep all snuggled in her blanket. She is such a beach baby! The kids all had a great time building sand castles, and being buried in the sand.

Once we left the beach, we went back to our room to clean up for dinner. We went out to Dave and Buster's, and that was fun. Some of our friends came down from Oceanside to hang out for a bit, and we also met up with some other football friends from Vegas. Dinner was good, and the kids absolutely loved the games!

San Diego- Sunday

After getting up, packed and eating breakfast, we headed home. We decided to drive up the 5 freeway across the west side of Camp Pendelton. We drove up through San Clemente to Irvine and cut across to the 15 to come back to Vegas, exactly like we used to. It was kind of surreal to drive by our old house and see that everything looks pretty much the same as it did when we left 5 years ago. It also brought back a lot of memories, and I cried the whole time. Once we got closer to home, we decided to take a little detour and go check out Calico, CA. It is a small ghost town just outside of Barstow. There were a lot of little shops and things to look at, so it was neat. The boys all had a lot of fun. They got to pan for gold, and see a house made out of over 4000 glass bottles. We had old fashion sarsaparilla soda, and we also went on a short tour in a tilted house. The boys were fascinated by the illusions of water running uphill, and brooms balancing "crookedly," and especially by the running faucet suspended in mid-air.

So we spent 5 fun filled days in San Diego and had a blast!!

Scouts

Tonight was Pack Meeting at scouts. Tristan has done amazing in the last few months, and he earned 11 new beltloops for video games, music, wildlife conservation, hiking, science, pet care, reading and writing, skateboarding, heritages, basketball, and soccer. He also earned another silver arrow point. He is our super scout!!

Bath Time!

Today it was decided that Angus needed a bath. So Cahl and the boys went out and bought one of the small plastic pools and some shampoo, and gave him a good scrubbing!

Of course, as soon as he was done, he went and ran around the yard rolling in the grass!

Football~ Bonecrushers vs Spartans

Well today was the last game of the season. The Bonecrushers played the Spartans and won. Unfortunately I don't know the final score, but I think it was around 18-0. My boys both played great, Tristan even attempted to run in an extra point. After the game, I did a little impromptu photo shoot with the boys. They are so funny!
