While we were there, the park was having a Civil War event. We went over and walked around and looked at everything. Brinley and I even talked to Abe Lincoln.
Fishing
The weather has been so nice lately, so we too the kids out to Eagle Island again to go fishing. They all got new fishing poles for Christmas, and they were so excited to use them.
April part 2
One rainy morning, I noticed 2 little quail out in our front yard. They are so adorable with their little head feathers.
One of the biggest things happening in April was Tristan breaking his arm... again. Same arm as a few years ago, different bone this time. According to him, his brother, and the neighborhood kids, he got in a fight with a kid who was picking on Jasen and some other younger kids. Somehow, he hit his arm on the kids head (on accident of course), and that's what broke it. Or, according to the doctor, he fell forward and caused the fracture by the impact of catching himself and landing on his hand. Either way, he is quite proud of himself for standing up for his brother's honor. When Cahl took him down to get his cast, they took a waterproof watch along and the doctor casted it! So now Tristan has a watch permanently attached to his arm for the next 4-6 weeks.
I also had this brilliant idea for a photo I wanted of the kids. So after a few weeks of putting together the perfect props and wardrobe, we finally made it happen. I am so in love with the result!
Jasen had to make a 3D model of Jupiter for class, so this is what he came up with, Jupiter and it's moons:
One week during the month, the valley put on an "Unplug and Be Active" week. It was a ton of different free events everyday, at locations all over the valley. I took Brinley to a few dance classes, and she LOVED them. Now that I know where they are, we will definitely be signing up for more classes!

The day of his casting was also Tristan's scout Court of Honor. He was excited to finally receive his Star rank, that he earned back in December. He earned his Nuclear Science badge, and his troop also recognized him as the Best Dressed Scout! Which was really cool, because his fellow scouts and leaders all nominated and voted for him.
This month also has the annual Take Your Kids to Work Day, and Cahl took Tristan and Jasen with him to work for the day. Hunter stayed home with me, and helped me with some shopping and housework :)
The elementary school had a concert of singing and recorder music. Jasen had been practicing his recorder songs for a few weeks, and the program was really cute.

Cahl and I also decided to build a fence in the backyard, to separate the yard from the trailer parking spot. It only took a few hours and looks great.
Hunter was awarded with his school's Golden Eagle Award for academic excellence. We were invited to a special breakfast with all the winners from each grade, and their teachers and principal. He was SO excited to be a winner!
Cahl also worked from home a few times, and one day we took Brinley and Mason to the park. Brinley had a lot of fun trying to feed the ducks and geese, but they didn't seem to want anything to do with her or her popcorn. So she just ate it herself.
Since Brinley and I spend all of our time together, we like to do things the same. In other words, she wants to be the same as me :)

Jasen also entered the school's science fair. He did his experiment by using specific gravity to determine the insides of geodes. And he won 1st place for 4th grade!
One Saturday morning, while Tristan and Jasen were at their friends house, we took Hunter and Brinley out to Eagle Island park. It was a little rainy, and there were hundreds of worms out on the beach. Hunter had so much fun picking up as many as he could hold, and offering them to the fishermen. Brinley was terrified of them, and was not having any of it.
Cahl bought a little motor bike for the boys. He put some work into it, and had it all worked over and tuned up. The boys are really excited to take it camping with us this summer. I think Brinley is even more excited.
For the Scout pack meeting this month, the pack went out to Gowen Field for a tour of the air wing. We had a welcoming informational powerpoint, and a tour of the hangar and helicopters. It was really windy and cold outside, but the kids all had a great time.
We went out to Idaho City one Saturday to let the kids ride their motorbike, and to scout out new camping spots. It had been rainy off and on the few days before, but it was still a nice day. The boys also took along their BB and pellet guns, and had fun setting up targets on the other side of the little creek to shoot at.
