Last week was red ribbon week at the kids' school. Each day was a different theme, and they had fun dressing up. Monday was animal print day, which is really lame for boys since any clothing with animal prints is so girly. Tuesday was crazy hair day, so they picked out having their hair spray colored. Then Wednesday was hippy day, and they rocked tie dye and peace signs, and Jasen had a groovy 'stache. Thursday was sports jersey day, and since it was also Halloween they changed into their costumes in the afternoon for their parties. Friday was camo day, which they totally forgot to wear.
Halloween
Brinley was so excited to go to preschool today in her costume! Her teacher lives on a quiet cul-de-sac, and she works it our with some of her neighbors to let the kids come by and trick or treat before their party. The kids loved it, and everyone loved Brin's costume!
In the afternoon, both Hunter and Jasen had class parties. I made treat bags for all the kids in both classes, and Brinley and I got to go to both parties. We spent the first half in Hunter's classroom, and watched the school's Parade of Costumes from there. The parade is really neat, the principal walks through a classroom, and that class follows him. As they weave through every classroom in the school, they pick up each class as they go. So you get to see all the costumes from all the other classes as they go through your room, then once you get back to your room you stay there and watch all the costumes that were behind you. Once the parade was done, Brin and I went down the hall to hang out in Jasen's room. It was a fun afternoon and they all enjoyed it.
In the evening, I took Brinley and Hunter trick or treating around our little street and once we were done, Tristan went with his group of friends while Jasen and Hunter went with another group of friends. Brinley stayed home with me and was my big candy handing out helper.

Court of Honor
Tonight was Tristan's scout Court of Honor. He received his Life Scout rank, as well as 9 merit badges: electricity, first aid, astronomy, environmental science, rifle shooting, emergency preparedness, communication, shot gun shooting, and wilderness survival. He's doing awesome in scouts, and is almost ready to begin his eagle project.
Trunk or Treat
Today was my niece's birthday, so Brinley and I went to her party at a gymnastics studio. The girls all had a great time doing gymnastics and playing, followed by snacks, cake and presents.
After the party, Brinley and I zipped home so we could get ready for trunk or treat. This year we had Tristan the Chippendale, Jasen as Clay Matthews, Hunter as Dracula, and Brinley was the cutest Oompa Loompa! Cahl went as a hunting accident and I was a referee.

Boogie Bash
Tristan's school had a big costume party/dance/dinner and he went with his best friend Phil. They decided to go as the SNL Chippendale dancers, Chris Farley and Patrick Swayze, and they were fantastic!
