Since Tristan and Jasen were both elected in the Order of the Arrow last month, and Cahl was elected as an adult member, the next step to becoming an OA member is to go through and "Ordeal." The ordeal is basically going up to Camp Morrison, spending 24 hours in complete silence, while working together in groups to clean up the campsites and get everything ready for the summer camps to begin. So up they went with our group of 8 boys and 2 adults, to join about 200 other new members. After the introductions Friday evening, they were sent off to sleep under alone the stars in the woods. They spent Saturday in silence cleaning up the campsites and the beach, gathering firewood, and setting up the big wall tents for the summer counselors. At the end of the day, they finished off with another ceremony and earned their sashes and Order of the Arrow member status.
