4th of July

This year we were able to spend 10 days on Salmon over the 4th of July. It was so nice to have so much time to visit and hang out.

Saturday we went to the Farmer's Market, sale booths and parade downtown, then went out to the Demo Derby in the evening. This year's derby was super small, with only 9 cars total, so it was over pretty quick. After the derby, we went out to some friends' for a bonfire.

Sunday we enjoyed a buggy ride up Blackrock.

Monday was another quiet day, and we took the buggys up to Wallace Lake with Cahl's step dad Jim and his wife Helen. The kids had so much fun on the kayaks and pontoons, and everyone caught fish!

We spent Tuesday catching up on laundry and just hanging out. Cahl and the boys helped his dad with some things around the shop, and Brinley helped Helen gathering eggs and checking on the garden. We also spent time with Gabrielle and her family, and watched Preston for a few hours in the morning.

Wednesday we were invited to float the river with a big group, which was a lot of fun. We spent several hours floating 17 miles, but the kids had a blast! Hunter and Brinley were so excited to have their friends Dylan and Maddie along. We even saw an otter, who swam under our raft! After the float, we had a low key family fireworks celebration, then watched the city fireworks. We had the best view from our camp spot!

Thursday was another low key day. I took Hunter and Brinley to the museum and art gallery downtown.

Friday we hung out at Gabrielle's most of the afternoon and just relaxed.

Saturday we decided on one last buggy ride, and headed up to UP lake. It was so much fun, and the lake was beautiful with its lilies! Hunter even swam around the lake collecting lilies for Brinley and I!

Sunday we packed up and headed home, after a great vacation!
