Cahl spent most of the week working on his 72 GMC truck with his dad in the shop, and Jasen and Hunter spent most of their time working on a demo derby car for Jasen. Brinley and I spent our time downtown visiting, helping my friend building a parade float, at the river, and walking through the sidewalk sales.
We also had a family picnic up William's Creek, and spent the evening of the 4th at our friend Emmett's, with his family for a BBQ and fireworks.
Friday night was Cahl's 20th High School reunion, and about half of his classmates showed up. It was so nice to see so many people, and get caught up.
Saturday brought the parade, which Jasen was so excited to drive his derby car in- and Hunter and Brinley loved riding in the back and throwing out candy! That night at the derby, Jasen drove his little car into the arena for the intro, but sadly his CV joint broke and he wasn't able to drive in the derby itself. He was disappointed, but now he knows what building a derby car takes, and he's excited to do it again!
