Trek

This year our entire stake put on a Trek in Wyoming, and both Tristan and Jasen were old enough to go. What an amazing opportunity for them! They were each assigned a "family" comprised of parents and 7 other siblings from within our stake. Jasen was lucky to have a "Ma and Pa" that he knows well from our ward, and 3 siblings from our last ward. Tristan had all new family members except for one sibling he already knew. They left at the butt crack of dawn Wednesday morning, and came home late Saturday night. During the days in between, they hiked/ walked 30 miles pushing a loaded handcart. We  had expected the weather to be hot and dry, but it ended up raining off and on the whole time. It was a relief to know that they each had a poncho, hat and extra pair of shoes. We sure missed them while they were gone, and it was hard not having any communication with them for 4 days, but they both did awesome. I'm incredibly proud of each of them- the care that they showed for others, everything they accomplished, and how hard they worked. I'm super excited to go on the next trek in 4 years!

New Hair

I decided that I was ready for a change once again, so I got my hair done. I donated 10 inches, and got a fun new cut and color. I am so happy with how it turned out!

Happy 4th!

Since Cahl and the 2 big boys got home from scout camp the morning of the 4th this year, we didn't plan too much. We had several of our friends over for a BBQ, then we all headed downtown to watch the city fireworks. After those were done, we went over to our friends' and all the kids set off their fireworks. They all had a ton of fun, and put on a great show!

Scout Camp

This summer Tristan and Jasen were really excited and lucky to have the opportunity to go to scout camp with their troop from last year. Cahl also got to go up and spend the second half of the week with them. They both had so much fun. Tristan did Camp Cullimore this year with a friend of his, which is designed for older scouts who have been to scout camp before. They got to do more high adventure things, including repelling down a 240 foot rock face. Tristan actually loved it and wants to do it again. Jasen came home with 9 merit badges! He can't wait to go back again!

Bird Feeder

Brinley went to a little summer camp this week, where she made a bird feeder. She was so excited to put it out on the tree, and has been watching the birds everyday!
