Trek

This year our entire stake put on a Trek in Wyoming, and both Tristan and Jasen were old enough to go. What an amazing opportunity for them! They were each assigned a "family" comprised of parents and 7 other siblings from within our stake. Jasen was lucky to have a "Ma and Pa" that he knows well from our ward, and 3 siblings from our last ward. Tristan had all new family members except for one sibling he already knew. They left at the butt crack of dawn Wednesday morning, and came home late Saturday night. During the days in between, they hiked/ walked 30 miles pushing a loaded handcart. We  had expected the weather to be hot and dry, but it ended up raining off and on the whole time. It was a relief to know that they each had a poncho, hat and extra pair of shoes. We sure missed them while they were gone, and it was hard not having any communication with them for 4 days, but they both did awesome. I'm incredibly proud of each of them- the care that they showed for others, everything they accomplished, and how hard they worked. I'm super excited to go on the next trek in 4 years!
