Veteran's Day

Since Cahl and the boys all had the day off of school and work for Veteran's Day today, we decided to head up to Mt. Charleston for an afternoon picnic and play day. We got up there around 3:30 and it was a balmy 31 degrees. So we got our campfire going, and got the hot chocolate brewing. Brinley sat on my lap all bundled up, and after a while she got upset with me because she wanted to get down and play! After the boys played in the snow and hiked the hills, we roasted hot dogs and had dinner. Then after it got dark, and we were near frozen, we roasted marshmellows but decided to forgo the rest of the smore ingredients so we could pack up and head home. By the time we left, just after 5, it was down to a nippy 22 degrees. As soon as we got home, we cranked up the heater and Cahl and the boys all got into the hot tub. Even though it was colder than we had anticipated, we all had a lot of fun.

Standing

Little Miss Brinley has decided that since she just figured out how to crawl, she is going to stand up! So far she has the most success on the bottom stair, but she also uses the dining chairs and coffee tables. And she's done it in her crib a few times. Yep, I think it's officially time to lower the mattress.

Football~ Bone Crushers vs Penn State

Tristan's team played Penn State today and won 12-0! They finally pulled together and played a great game. They only have 1 regular season game left and then on to the playoffs.

Soccer

Jasen's soccer game went great! His team won 4-1 and he was so happy! He played one quarter as goalie, one as forward and 2 as defender. He does really well as defender. He stopped several balls from getting to the goal. Only one more game left this season and then some time off.

Date Night!

Cahl and I had an opportunity to go on a rare date night last night. He planned it all himself- we went to the Excalibur for dinner at Dick's Last Resort, and then to the MGM to see the Cirque du Soleil show KA. It. Was. AMAZING!! I didn't take any photos during the show, but there are some I took of the stage before it started, and some shots from their website. Cahl got us last minute tickets, but they were perfect. We sat smack in the middle of the middle section, close to the back. We could see everything! I had never seen a Cirque show before, and even though I knew they are cool, I had no idea how awesome they really are. Now I want to see every single one I can!!
