Colorado

Last weekend, Cahl and I drove to Colorado for a wedding. We drove over on Thursday, and stopped in Soda Springs on the way there for lunch, and timed it just right to see the geyser erupt. Neither of us had been there before, and it was super cool!

We also stopped in Montpelier, and visited one of the banks that Butch Cassidy robbed!

We spent Friday just exploring Steamboat Springs, and having an awesome BBQ with Emmett, Laura, and all their extended family. It was so nice to see everyone, many that we hadn't seen for a few years! A black bear even made his way to the park where we were, so that was fun!

Saturday morning we met up with Cahl's step dad and his wife to go on a short hike to Fish Falls. It was totally worth it, and so beautiful! Then we spent the evening at the wedding and reception, which was so fun, and I'm so happy we were able to go and celebrate Emmett and Laura!

Massacre Rocks

This weekend we met our cousins Stacey and Andy and their kids to go camping at Massacre Rocks state park. None of us had ever been there, and other than being as hot as Hades (as my grandma used to say), it turned out to be really neat! It's right on the Oregon Trail, so there's a visitor's center and historic landmarks all around- including wagon ruts and Register Rock, which has pioneer names carved into it. We camped up on a hill overlooking the Snake river, and spent most of our time playing in the river. We had the kayaks, paddle boards and a raft, and we all had so much fun!

Swimming Lessons

Both Hunter and Brinley took swimming lessons again this summer, and they both did great! They've passed their current levels, and will be moving up next summer.

Pantry

Cahl and I have wanted to put up more shelves in our pantry for a few years, but Cahl finally decided it was time and brought all the materials home today! I wish I had a good before photo, since it was a pretty ugly pile, but they turned out great and are so much more beneficial!

July 4th

This year we hung around for the 4th of July, and had a big BBQ with several families over. The kids all had a great time setting off fireworks!
