Challenge Travel Fair

The kids in Jasen's Challenge program have been working very hard for the last few months on their Technology of Ancient Civilizations section. Each kid had to choose an ancient civilization and research it using books, not the internet. Jasen chose the Vikings, and checked out every book he could find on them from 2 different libraries. Then they each had to put together a 3 or 4 minute presentation about their chosen civilization, using 3 main reasons that theirs is the most interesting and unique, and try to persuade the audience to travel to and "visit" their place. They each made a poster board of information about their 3 main points, illustrated it, and also made a smaller "brochure" for the audience to read. Each kid also had cue cards with prompts of their main points.  Some kids had several full cards, but Jasen only used 1/2 of one card. He worked very hard on his presentation for several months, and he did a great job! His information made sense, his speech flowed nicely, and I did notice that he was the only kid I talked to who gave his presentation without the use of his cue cards.
