Happy Birthday!
Since Hunter's birthday is tomorrow, we celebrated it today. We had all his presents set up when he got up from his nap, and he was so excited when he came downstairs! He got a four wheeler from mom and dad, some cool toys from his brothers, and a few other gifts from family.
Wrestling Tournament
Today's wrestling tournament was at Desert Oasis High School, way out on the other side of town. Jasen wrestled 3 matches, he won one and lost two. There were 15 kids in his class today, and he did not place. But he did really good anyway. Tristan also had 3 matches, and he lost all 3. He placed 6th today. He did pretty well, but he needs to work on remembering to listen to his coaches during the match. One kid pinned him in a weird, upside down leg lock that he couldn't get out of. I've never seen such a move before! Because of the way the divisions work, he is one of the younger kids in his division this season. He is also wrestling at a higher weight class, so that makes it a little harder on him. But if he continues to practice hard, I'm sure he'll do better.
Football~ Bone Crushers vs Cowboys
Today was the boys' last football game of the season, and they played the Cowboys again. It was so cold outside, but the team did well and won 20-6. Tristan played really well, and got some great tackles. Unfortunately Jasen did not get a chance to play today. For some reason, there is a lot of tension between these 2 teams. And today was a little crazy. One of the refs was pretty crappy, and near the end of the game he quit and walked off. Parents on both sides were pretty riled up, and after the ref quit, the game was called. I was a little afraid that there was going to be a brawl out on the field between some of the coaches and dads, but luckily everyone was smart enough to let it go and walk away.
So overall, the Bonecrushers placed 2nd in their division. Which is pretty impressive for such a young team. When the season started, I really didn't think they would do so well, considering most of the players are 6 and 7 years old and this was their first season playing. I was just hoping for them to have fun and for Jasen to learn a lot and have a good experience his first time. And for Tristan to be able to improve his skills as well. To have an opportunity to show that he's a good player and knows what he's doing. And I really feel like this has been a great season for both of them. Tristan has really stepped up and proven himself. Jasen got quite a bit of game time overall, and he did really well. I am very proud of both of them, and am looking forward to watching them continue to grow as kids and as athletes.

Magical Forest
This morning, a big bunch of friends and I took our kids down to the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village. I haven't ever been there before, and it's really nice how they have it all set up. Plus it was nice to go during the day because it wasn't very crowded. They had Santa, a train, a big slide, a carousel, all kinds of cool stuff. Hunter had a great time!
Bonnie Springs
So today was Girl's Craft Day at Cahl's uncle Mike's house. We sent the guys- Cahl, Andy and Mike- with the kids- Tristan, Jasen, Hunter, Alasondra, and Nila- out to Bonnie Springs for the day. Then us girls- Diana, Cherie, Kathy, Stacey, Chrystee, Caitie and I stayed to do crafts. I worked on getting caught up on my scrapbooking, Cherie worked on a quilt, and the others all worked on Christmas cards. It was a lot of fun, and I think we all got a lot done. Plus it was nice to be kid free for a while!
The guys went out to Bonnie Springs. The kids had a great time watching the shows, going to the petting zoo and having lunch. After they were done there, they went to Bass Pro, which is doing a bunch of kids Christmas activities. Of course, since the guys were in charge of taking pictures, they didn't take very many. Only a few at Bonnie Springs, and none of the zoo. Or at Bass Pro. Oh well.
