We also found this really neat place called the Trees of Mystery along the way as well. It was super cool. Cahl had been there as a kid, and he was really excited to take all of us. He kept telling us, look for a giant Paul Bunyan. And sure enough, at the entrance was a GIANT pair of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox statues. The kids loved them. Then we went into the trees. It was so amazing! The trees are so huge, and so old. It's really pretty humbling to walk amongst them.
Once we got up to the top of the trail, we rode a gondola to the top of the mountain. The ride itself took what seemed like an eternity, and it was crazy being as high as the tops of the trees. Once we got to the top, there was a lookout over the mountains and trees, but it was so foggy you couldn't see very far. I think the kids' favorite part of the whole ride was making fun of me and my wimpyness.
Once we came back down on the gondola and headed back down the trail, Brinley got ahold of one of the cameras. She was having a great time taking photos of everything, and we have lots of photos of the fence rails, our butts, and random strangers.
